Are you tired of McDonalds, Pizza, and other fatty fast food? I'll recomend breakfast or lunch at Aurora Cafe. They had greit food, and the costumer service was excellent. They have a lot of vegetarian opitions, which I have had problems finding in USA, but for meat lovers, they also got that. A way to convince even the most picky... More

The Washington Post listed this cafe as a good breakfast place whether you chose Eritrean or American food. We wanted to try Eritrean. The waitress was helpful in explaining the dishes. I had what I considered a version of French toast and my friend had a favs bean version of porridge. Both were spicy and quite good. We would return... More

We came for breakfast and after looking at the menu, asked the owner for suggestions. She chose two dishes that were delicious - one had fava beans. She was very helpful and the food was great!

Non-pretentious Ethiopian Restaurant in a small outdoor mall that is easily missed. The owner seems amazed that some Americans love Ethiopian food and is willing to make sure you enjoy the experience.

Hole in the wall. Food was really delicious. My husband got a Panino ( tomato, cheese, onion, egg, on a focaccia). I got the omelet. No outdoor seating. In a little shopping center. Has maybe 10 small tables inside. Service was great!

The food is finger licking good. The chicken with spinach, the Shiro and the fava bean appetizer are great. The tea is also very good. It is just a pity that the flavorful food is ruined by the slowness in service. They need to do something about the speed of service. Our food got cold while we waited for the... More

I ate here with visiting family and loved it! Friendly staff, the atmosphere makes you feel like you're visiting a close friend's home. The food was cooked perfectly and was very filling. A quaint little hole in the wall cafe, definitely a new favorite!

Not sure if it's Ethiopian or Eritrean, but the food is the best of that type I've had in Alexandria. There are entrees for vegetarians and carnivores made with the special butter they have in the horn of Africa; ingratiating service; and superb injera( subtly flavored with I can't tell what ). It's a small cafe, and when we went... More
