We preferred to stay in rather than go out and were most pleasantly surprised by an excellent dinner & service

Terrific service, great food, super selection, tables well spaced apart, good location near metro, priced well.

Bastille Day Dinner Extravagance Wow we were blown away by this unquestionably awesome dinner worthy of a Michelin star: fried oysters pork belly veal sweetbreads beef short ribs and peach tart tatin each course accompanied by a craft cocktail 🍹 Although this was a one...off menu, the chef knows how to cook!More

The food was good but the service really very very poor. Silverware missing on the table , no cooler for the wine and the wait to get the order much too long. No one asking if we were needing something at any time. I was...asking if I could have the steak tartare as a main menu instead of an appetizer I would have paid the difference but the answer was NO. When you pretend to be a 4 stars restaurant that is not what you expect Also so noisy like a hen house even with a 50pc capacity. Will be our first and last time there.More

The wait staff were so wonderful and hard working. In the past the chef was expert. Today the ingredients were as expected, the only exception was the "strip steak" which actually was a shoulder steak only a quarter inch thick, full of gristle and fat....The salad was on a heated plate and put under a salamander. Inexcusable. The sauce was not au poivre. It was closer to beef gravy. The short ribs and fingerling potatoes were so over cooked that the potatoes were softer than mashed and the rib meat dry and tough. It was poorly prepared without attention to detail. I can excuse skimping on ingredients, but not an inept chef at those prices.More

I can’t really complain as the food I was served was indeed excellent. The menu was severely shortened most likely due to COVID. The prix fixe menu was essentially the full menu and helped with the sting of lack of variety. Short ribs with the...polenta base were indeed excellent.More

There are other French bistros in the DMV who strive for authenticity in every detail, Brabo focuses on exceptional food creations in a more modern/less traditional setting. The food was excellent in the way you expect the French experience to be. I had a Sea...Bass in a brown butter sauce with perfectly cooked hen of the woods mushrooms and a gratin and enough sauce for the plate. My wife had mussels which was the most serving of mussels I've ever seen and tasty fries with 3 sauces to dip into. My friend had the bacon wrapped monkfish and said it was wonderfully cooked and seasoned. My other friend had the French burger and this was the only downer. It was supposed to be medium rare and was closer to well done. We sent it back and got almost the same cook on a new burger. You can get better burgers at better places in the DMV obviously and ultimately my friend wasn't too upset about it. (Note that the table next to us got steaks and those looked perfectly cooked from my nosy perspective) Service runs at a slow pace here but everyone is very friendly. That did not bother our party who were there to hang out and converse for a few hours. If you are in a rush, go to the bar instead. Decor is nice but the lighting was too bright for my taste. Some tables are also close together and there isn't a lot of noise which means everyone can hear everyone else's conversation. That said, you can carry a conversation here unlike some of the more vibrant noisy bistros around. I'll definitely head back because the food was why I came and it exceeded my expectations.More

People who love French food or are curious about it should not go to Brabo. This place has good reviews and some very good features that I’ll get to, but first. Lovers of authentic French food should go the La Cote Dore in Fairfax. Great...wine lists, fine food and a very accommodating staff in the dining room and kitchen. I asked for their artichoke heart salad that wasn’t currently on the menu and got it. None of our food courses arrived all at the same time. The restaurant was not crowded, so that should never happen. I was interested in the Burger because it came with Bayonne ham that I think is the best. I asked for the hamburger medium-rare, but it came to me medium-well. When I sent it back, the server took it away cheerfully, but it came back a little ¬more over-cooked. It was still a little juicy, and my three friends were half-way through their meals, so I conceded. Last, the red and white wine lists are short, too short for a French dinner or for any good restaurant. On the plus side the menu contained many inventive dishes that we’ve never seen before: black truffle-marinated burrata (excellent), goat cheese with sugar and a small side of honey-comb, grilled Spanish octopi, and others. Lovers of authentic French food should go the La Cote D’ore in Fairfax. Great wine lists, fine food and a very accommodating staff in the dining room and kitchen. So I did go here with a relatively large group, but the restaurant was quite empty the entire time we were there. Ii was hard to put a finger directly on what I found disappointing. Everything just seemed scattered, inconsistent, and not up to snuff...for what I was expecting. The staff was very on top of being aware of food allergies and knowing what was in the various dishes, but then failed to prep one correctly based on the knowledge. I had mussels and added the fries (i standard menu option), but they only brought the sauces for the fries and not the fries having gotten the idea that I only wanted the sauces somehow. The mussels also seemed of inconsistent quality through the dish. The baked Alaska for dessert was quite good on top (and very theatrical), but the alcohol completely soaked the cake at the bottom resulting in it burying the taste and making the cake taste pretty awful. I have to assume that either too much was used, or it wasn't lit fast enough. Overall, everything was just really hit and miss that night.More

We were delighted to get the happy hour menu on a Sunday! The mussels, frites, and burger were all excellent. Kristen, our server was friendly and attentive. The bartender was awesome too, and made us custom drinks!

I suggest you contact BRABO. I do not have that answer to your question. I was just a guest. However, their food and service was AMAZING when I was there.
