I always dislike when people at a french named place use an accent. The food is expensive but very good. Just prepare yourself for the small sizes. I guess one way they make up for this if they have a very good deal for a coffee and a croissant, I think it like 2 bucks.

The guy manning the cash register and taking orders gave me the distinct impression that he was doing me a huge favor by selling me a cup of coffee and a croissant. He was brusque and unfriendly. The staff seemed unhappy and depressed. Few of the staff seemed able to speak English. The croissant was pretty good, but the coffee... More

I ordered a toasted sandwich and it looked very nice but I took one bite and it tasted liked burnt bread. So flip it over and the whole underside of my sandwich was completely black. I was like....for $13.50 I guess we can't get any quality control. I would have fired a cook for pushing crap like that into the... More

The restaurant itself was quaint and the service wasn't bad. The table was too small for our plates and coffee cups which made us do a balancing act. The FOOD wasn't good AT ALL!!! We weren't anti-organic when we walked in -- but we were when we walked out. Everything just tasted off and we definitely won't return.

We had breakfast there recently and of course it reminded us of a European restaurant. We sat upstairs which is very nice (but a bit chilly). We sat at the communal table but most folks sat at the individual tables. I had the scrambled eggs. They were served with two types of bread, and a salad. I had seen that... More

Staff is pleasant and the choices are adventurous and healthy. I tried the French toast with strawberries and it was quite enjoyable.

This place is a solid FIVE stars! From what I've read, the majority of lower stars is due to the price of the food, but sometimes you need to pay for unique experiences, and this is one that is worth to add to your list of things to do around Alexandria, VA. My best friend told me about this place... More

We stopped by this restaurant wanting to see the community table they have. They had a good case of pastries but we were looking for oatmeal. We ordered one for each (my husband plain with blueberries and myself with bananas, walnuts, and maple syrup). It hit the spot along with the espresso and hot tea. We also had a side... More

LPQ is the best place for a reliable and delicious light breakfast or lunch. We love the smoked salmon plate and Mediterranean combo plate. LPQ's bread is lovely--made w varied grains and nuts. Also try seasonal soups, salads and desserts.

I have been to several Le Pain Quotidien locations in the DC area and NYC. This one has a very warm service staff. The tartines and quiches are great. I love the soft boiled eggs with toast points. What I love the most is the mint tea, with actual mint leaves. The pastries are lovely, too. It's relaxing. Enjoy!
