We were a group of 6 visiting Alta for the first time and wanted a suitable place for a family meal on Christmas Eve. The booking was easily done on the internet in advance and we were not disappointed. The food is superb, the service excellent and the wine list is amazing. If you are visiting Alta and enjoy a... Right across from Alta Ski resort and up the road from Snowbird. A winery owner was on hand the night our group went, Ryan Zepaltas. Excellent lamb chops, squash, brussel sprouts too. HIGHLY Recommended!!

Excellent food in an intimate setting. Wonderful wine selection. Limited but varied menu. I recommend the black cod. It's fantastic!

Great little restaurant if you're skiing at Alta/Snowbird. The food and drinks were delicious and the wine list was simple but interesting even though they didn't have my first choice. They compensated perfectly by offering a higher valued wine for a discount. Food was delicious and service was gracious. Nothing more to say than yes, you should try it and... More

We have had our New Years Dinner here 3-4 times and we always enjoy the experience. The food is always excellent and the service prompt, friendly and personal. It's a bit pricey but we are in the mountains. We'll always return.

First of all, isn't this in Alta? Second, this place is a legend. I still remember the stuffed trout dinner I had when I celebrated moving up to Snowbird in 1974, to the Cliff Lodge for $20/mth! I'm sure I speak for many people who love this place, and their memories which include this wonderful spot!

If you don't want to leave the slopes, this place is OK. Very Small, crowded, wait staff is nice, food selection OK for being on a slope, or cross street from one. Little too high priced for a family.

A "graduation night dinner" has been a long tradition for my friends and I on the last night of our annual guys ski trip. We like to hit the best place in town and the Shallow Shaft was the most recommended place in Snowbird/Alta. It did NOT disappoint. At the top of the long, steep, wooden stairway entrance revealed a... More
