This is a perfect place for some Tex Mex and gives u an array of options to choose from when it comes to drinks.

Trudys has been around a long time. The food is pretty good, nothing amazing, but good stuffed avacado and a great Mexican martini! They also have several flavors of margaritas, like coconut, mango, sangria and others. You won't be disappointed but you probably won't write home about it either. Parking is terrible at the Burnet road location but other than... More

Tremendously disappointing experience on a Saturday night at Trudy's North Star. I've been visiting Austin for over two decades off and on, and have never, ever seen such a combination of mediocre food and inattentive service. It started with our call to make a reservation on what we anticipated to be a busy night at Trudy's, what with the UT... More

Went to Trudy's on Sunday when they had their brunch buffet. It was fairly extensive. It has a lot of your usual Tex mex fare, but the stand out was the fried stuffed avocados, fish tacos, and endless bacon. Three of us enjoyed our food but one of us had issues with the food sitting well with him.

Too many better places for Tex Mex in Austin. Casa Chapala ( on diagonal corner of same intersection ) has better food and drinks ( and service). Trudy's always smells musty and is always so dimly lit that you wonder what you're not supposed to see. Drinks (margaritas & Mexican martinis) used to be really good, but seem very inconsistent... The food in the past has always been enjoyable here for brunch but today it was just wasn't. I tried chicken tika enchiladas and they were nothing to write home about. Just ok. My husband had his usual huevos montalenos and he enjoyed his meal. I think the next time I will stick with what I know on the menu... More

The food quality was good, the Mexican Martini was too strong (couldn't drink it) and the service was poor. Our server was slow and not attentive. It took our food a long time to come out and it wasn't a busy time. I have heard the UT campus location was a much better experience, including the vibe and ambience.

My experience with service at this location has been inconsistent at best. Sometimes its great, other times I've had to flag down someone_ anyone_ to order another round or ask for the check. I've also had mixed results with the food. Hot, hearty servings one time, cold, meager plates on the next visit. I only go to this Trudy's to... More

Aways a fan of Trudy's it was a long time since I had dropped in and seeing the Trudy's sign on Burnett road I knew it was time to check it out. I was not disappointed as it was Tuesday and they had the enchiladas special, any enchilada plate for 7 bucks. Mexican Martinis still good. I had the Tinga... More
