A group of friends ate an enjoyable early bird meal after a day sightseeing in Austin. Some enjoyed other items from the menu but the special three course menu items for $35 were just right for us, a few of them being a beautiful watermelon salad, rack of lamb, veal medallions, tiramisu, and others which we can't now remember but were... Enjoyed an "early bird" special here during a recent business trip. It was like stepping back in time to when families made dinner a special occasion. Menu was great, as was the service. Happy to recommend!
Our first interest in Carmelo is my dads name so of course we had to try it. We've been going to Carmelo's for years! We're there for most our anniversaries, the staff is great most years they've taken our picture and put it in a keepsake paper frame. Great bananas fosters and cherry jubilee!
Arrived and were promptly seated. The waiter was extremely pleasant, attentive and knowledgeable. He was spot on with his recommendations. We all order parmingiana, Veal, eggplant and chicken. The red sauce/gravy was very good. All the food was cooked to order as all of our meals had a nice crunch....instead of being soggy from being premade. As well the price... More

I had lobster bisque, which was fabulous, and mussels, which were very good. My friends split the veal and a salad. The portions were very... More
Tried to get into another place for dinner before the early show at esters follies but it was an hour and a half wait!. Went over to Carmelo's and dollar though they were busy they were able to find us a table. Without the waiter no we didn't have very much time before our show and he got us out... More
We both ordered gnocchi with the red sauce and it was light with a delicious sauce. The Cesar salad had large chunks of raw garlic and I love garlic but this was too much. The olive oil with herbs and raw garlic for dipping bread was good but the bread was ho hum. If you do not like garlic, you... More
