We stumbled on this when reading reviews and folks were raving about the fried oysters. And boy were they right! The food here is excellent, the cocktails unique and fantastic, the ambiance Austin-weird, and the service from Emily off the chart! We will definitely return when we come back to Austin.

Wonderful dinning experience, located close to downtown Austin. Delightful food with a southwest flair. Very Austin, casual atmosphere with a very cool staff. Many great dishes, but the lightly fried oysters may be the best this native son of the Texas Gulf Coast has ever had !...Very involved management and if your are lucky enough to get Emily as your... The wife and I and another couple ate on a Friday evening. We were able to get a reservation last minute. Stay outside on the porch, which was very nice. Enjoyed an Old Fashion while the wife had a well water, which I think is there signature drink. Both were very good. I had the pork tenderloin and my wife... More

This was a business dinner with three of my colleagues. Service was efficient and prompt. A really great menu - lots of variety! We started with the crispy oyster appetizer (which I would order again). One colleague ordered the lamb shanks. Another ordered the Texas Grill. I had the Jalapeno Maize Trout. Sorry, but I can't recall what the fourth... More

This place was great. It's a bit cramped but the food was great. They have a good wine and beer selection and a wide range of what my host called "classic Texas food". I had a mixed platter of quail, sausage and chicken which was wonderful. The ribeye is huge so pace yourself. The service was really good. I look... More

Good service, eclectic atmosphere, interesting/tasty food selection. This included: Canarones Rellenos (smoked shrimp appitizers), Fish Tacos (generous numbers), Caldo de Pollo (chicken breast with veggies), Divorced trout (rainbow trout), chicken Jalapeno maise, South Texas Mixed Grill (chicken friend venison, sugar cured honey grilled quail, chipolte pork over au gratin potatoes, mixed veggies. All six of us liked our meal selection

Very ?Southern/Country cuisine. Stuffed heads of animals on walls might not be to everyone's liking! Live music provided. Food was very good. Can seat indoors or outdoors. Just a 10 minutes walk from Embassy Suites Austin Downtown, Texas. Reasonably-priced. Recommended.

Definitely make a reservation here, even on a Thursday night. The place fills up about 730. Nice patio- request that if it's a nice night. Service is wonderful. Unfortunately we did not love the quail, the tenderloin, or the chicken. Pricey too. Potential is there, but not sure it all came together.

Excellent meal from start to finish. The fried peach pie for dessert was particularly memorable and worth a return trip. Good friendly service and unique/charming atmosphere.
