I like going on Wednesday evening for the half price Mexican martinis and fajitas. The food is tasty and the drinks are good. The atmosphere is lacking but the cost makes up for it !

They have good food but it’s not the best Tex Mex in south Austin for the money. Interior is fun and staff is very accommodating!

I know, hard to believe but both dishes were too cheesy. Had to fish around to find the chicken. Chips were fresh, hot and plentiful. Staff was friendly w reasonable prices.

What a great lively spot for Mexican food, either take out or stay in. There is a lovely party atmosphere that is fun to enjoy. And the margaritas are gigantic!

We've been visiting the Texican ever since we moved to the Manchaca-Buda area in 1990. Our kids grew up eating here often, and we all still love it! They have the best fajitas, and we especially like the nachos supreme. Overall, the food is excellent,...More

Description
The Texican Cafe, an Austin original, began serving hungry Austinites in South Austin in 1988. Then and now, our food philosophy remains the same- use only the finest and freshest beef, poultry, seafood, and produce to ensure the delivery of palate pleasing offerings of the highest quality. Our chili peppers and spices are native to the cities of Juarez and El Paso and give our food a unique flavorful flair that Austinites have been enjoying for over 25 years. These traditional ingredients paired with New Mexican Native American ingredients made for the perfect blend of Mexican food created for Texans, thus the birth of the “Texican Cafe”.
