We try to hit Matt's for lunch while passing through Austin to savor their delicious Tex-Mex. It is difficult not to order the Chili Relleno or Beef Enchiladas because they are always soooo good. Pair them with house margarita and we are all set. Only...More

Drove 30 minuets across town to have dinners last night. First time trying this restaurant but our friends said it would be worth the effort. They were absolutely right, wouldn’t hesitate to drive an hour or more for this amazing food, seriously. Since it was...More

Love the food and service. It's so good to eat here. The beverages are all great too. We had a party of ten and were place in a big room with other large parties. It was just too noisy for some of our group. We...More

Thanks William, Glad you enjoyed your meal. We do get super busy and loud. Next time ask for the ‘North’ dining room. It’s not as noisy in that room.

Approaching 70 years in business, Matt’s El Rancho must be doing something right. This is not authentic Mexican food; it’s Austin, Texas-style Tex-Mex (there’s a difference and it’s a delicious one). The enchiladas and tacos are my favorite. The chips and salsa alone are worth...More

had a recent late lunch at Matt's, with family. Wonderful Tex-Mex cuisine, in a sheltered outdoor patio setting. For the faint of heart, be cautioned, the salsa that is served is "zesty". Chips, freshly fried. guac was outstanding as was the special house dip for...More

Great location! Required Austin dinning visit with traditional Tex Mex food. Queso is extra tasty as they add ground beef. The service and drinks are also excellent.
