Finally dined here after many attempts with no availability. It was a pleasant experience but food and service only average. Not bad at all just underwhelming. UChi has long been the number 1 restaurant in Austin but we did not discover what all the hype...More

Uchi has a great atmosphere for a (fancy) date night. I enjoyed a night of excellent service, and very thoughtful small plates. Each dish my date & I shared was better than the previous one, and an absolute delight to eat. The mixed drinks were...More

My buddy and I decided we needed a night to crush ourselves in delicious food and celebrate the gift of friendship. Uchi was his choice ... but neither of us were prepared for the spectacular flavors and textures that graced our table. Sushi fan? In...More

We went out for a special occasion and wanted something 'different'. We chose Uchi and were we ever rewarded! The food was outstanding, selection totally unexpected and service impeccable!

Personally I think this restaurant is just a bit overrated. For the prices I would expect good size portions of sushi but I thought they were on the mean side. We have eaten sushi in many places and this does not compare to the best...More

Uchi is simply the premier Japanese/suchi restaurant in Austin, with its sister restaurant Uchiko a close second. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. Reservations are a must and the prices are elevated. The atmosphere is vibrant but noise levels permit conversation

I think I might be insulting Uchi by mentioning Nobu in the title. Not even close, Uchi is hands down better. What an experience! Great knowledgeable staff that can create a culinary experience to remember. We had a table of 9 and were truly amazed...More

Depends on what part of campus, but the 20, 10, and 7, among others, all transfer to the 3 at Guadalupe/8th. The 3 will drop you off at Lamar/Treadwell, which is basically at the front door.
