This was not like any Mexican food I ever tasted. They tried to call it Mexico City food but I have friends from there and this was not what they cook. The portions were small and the meat was tough. The cheese was way over melted almost to the point of being burned. Wont bother going again but if you... More

The cuisine is what I would call upscale Mexican. It's probably wise to check the menu before eating here since it's not extensive. We got a variety of salsas which were pretty good. My chicken taquitos were pretty good as well.

Heard great things. Atmosphere was great. Service and food were average, at best. Unfortunately, didn't live up to the great reputation.

We were heading over to Lambert BBQ as we had one night only in Austin, no luck as waiting was 1,1/2hrs and with the BBQ smell hanging over you as you sat in the kitchen without a fan that wasn't an option. Opposite the street is La Condesa, so nice and I was happy to not get back with all... More

Cost is about what you'd expect for the quality and location. Ordered the chips with salsa and guacamole for $18, and since they were serving brunch at the time we came, we also had the chicken salad, the flautas and the huevos condesa. Everything was prepared perfectly - the huevos condesa had an awesome smoky saltiness to it, the flautas... More

My wife and I both have been in Austin since childhood. We've been meaning to try La Condesa for some time and finally did recently before an ACL show. It's a crowded place but we had a reservation and were seated promptly. The service was friendly and attentive. The drinks were creative and flavorful but seemed light on alcohol (we... More

I really loved the food we had. Very fresh and flavorful. We had the fish tacos (the best!) and the salsas and a ceviche. Everything was good. The sangria was so tasty, I could have drank it all night. The waiter forgot to put our order in for the tacos, although it was not a bother at all, he apologized... More

Just left La Condesa after a long day of meetings. We were seated quickly, you can make open table reservations, but not phone res.. Be cautious about sitting outside, since you are right on the sidewalk (they have a half-height divider). Service was a bit slow for a Monday night There were a reasonable number of diners, but no apparent... More

We had a large group, and although we made a reservation, they were 30 min late in seating us. The food wasn't as good as I was expecting, and our service was lackluster. Glad we tried it, but wouldn't recommend for larger groups.

I stumbled across this place looming for a late-ish dinner. The service at all stages was excellent; the staff were knowledgeable about the menu and were happy to make recommendations, which I'm glad I followed. The Hamachi is small but is made to be savoured; complex and delicious! The Chuletta was also excellent and the pork was cooked to perfection.... More
