A nice little traditional dinner, with booths and bar stools. Lovely atmosphere, very laidback and unassuming. Their burgers are great - they taste like homemade burgers, with all fresh ingredients.

I'm not trying to insult Penny's with that title since it does have its own charm of another era -- sort of a "Waffle House" with an extended menu. The problem is that Alpine is amazingly short on decent dining options. We wanted something basic and all-American on our last night on the road, and this certainly hit the spot.... More

Not sure if it depends which cook is on shift, but our burgers took 50 minutes to arrive. When they did, they were good. Right next door to the Quality Inn where we stayed.

Actually we had a good time at the diner. They were out of some items we wanted, but we were tured and really couldnt care at that moment. The staff was pleasant but didnt want to be bothered with conversation.

Always a delight to eat at this fabulous establishment! It's a bright spot (literally) on Highway 90 to get a great breakfast 24 hours a day. If you're in a hurry, come a little before or after 2:00 pm... that's when they clean the grill.

During a family vacation to Big Bend, we stumbled across this treasure. Loved the throwback to the 50s and 60s... As well as the best breakfast I ever had, also best Patty Melt... Heavenly food that is to die for.

Arrived late in the evening and still had breakfast. The grill was right there to watch and the cook took great pride in his perfect sunny side up! Inexpensive and friendly.

If you are feeling like a greasy burger and fries, this is the place. I like to order a patty melt on our travels and this one was good. It looks a little tired inside, but does the trick.

This diner actually looks like a 50's diner. All American food. Everything we had was really good. The selections were good, serves breakfast all the time too. Prices were reasonable. Staff was friendly.

This local hangout is close to Holiday Inn Express and walkable. We probably hit it at a bad time. Although it's a 24/7 diner, the 8:00 PM visit we made might have made a difference. Our experience included one cook, nearly every table still loaded with dirty plates, and a wait fort he hostess to show up. Our simple order... More
