The atmosphere is great and what you would expect for a true texas BBQ joint. The Mac n Cheese and green beans were very good and the pecan cobbler was average. I had a three meat plate with brisket (bland and mushy texture) / sausage (flavorless) and ribs ( tender but flavorless). None of the meats and any smoke flavor... More

You drive in and you are faced with a 1950's gas station look complete with an old rusty truck. As you enter the food area and choose from several kinds of barbecued meats and then sides to go with them. Your choices are loaded onto a large crate-like tray ready for you to take to the dining room. In the... More

One of the few good barbeque places in the San Antonio area. Like all barbeque joints best time to go is when they're busy. Enjoy.

My husband & I had the brisket, turkey, ribs & sausage. All was great. Brisket was so tender, turkey was moist, ribs were falling off the bone & sausage was seasoned perfectly. Sadly, they were out of several of their sides for so early in the day. BBQ sauce & sweet tea were Texas style all the way. We will... More

TPB was recommended by a friend after we spent the better part of the morning at a nearby shooting range. We were tired and hungry and the TPB did not disappoint. For the mere sum of $21 and change we got sliced brisket, pork ribs, burnt ends and great sides. The german potato salad was recommended by one of the... More

First time here and it was worth the short drive from home, about 30 minutes. We had the brisket and sausage plate. Brisket was tender, not fatty and the sausage was nicely spiced and firm and yet tender, not a store bought brand. Sides were cole slaw, pinto beans, green beans and peach cobbler for dessert, all excellent. Employees were... More

Every time I am in the area I always go to Texas Pride BBQ. Love the look of the place. You can feel the history and county the minute you drive up. There are plenty of choices for food. Everything I have had has been very good and tasty. I am partial the the rib and brisket sandwich. They definitely... More

Very disappointed in the food. We got there at 8 pm and it closes at 8:30. Possibly that is the reason we were disappointed and the food was not what we expected. My brisket was cut from the end and it had a thick crust. There was so much burned crust that it took away from the taste of the... More

Great place to eat BBQ, brisket, ribs, etc. all quite good. Typical Texas atmosphere, order food cafeteria style, get drinks and sit at a large wooden table. Beer is available. If you are lucky enough to be there on an afternoon when they have a band, enjoy the covered concrete dance floor. If there is no band on Sunday, head... More
