We had a group of about 20 for a business dinner. The wait staff was responsive and fun, but had a habit of only hearing half of the request or order (never did get the hot sauce). The Margaritas were weak to average. Chips/salsa/guacamole below...More

This is a NICE Latin restaurant. We were looking for a Tex-Mex place and ended up here. The food was fantastic, but it was a little fancier than we were expecting. The service was good and fast. We were perfectly fine in our shorts, but...More

My "go-to" dish in evaluating a Latin restaurant is how well they prepare chili rellenos. Make a good chili relleno and it's a sure measuring stick as to the quality of the balance of the menu. Unfortunately, Gloria's chili relleno was the worst I've ever...More

Went for a late lunch when the restaurant was not busy. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars was because of the beans and salsa they bring out before you order. We ordered the combination chicken and beef fajitas and they were the...More

A very nice place to enjoy as a couple, with friends or family. Prices average 14.99 to 24.99 for entrees and 12.99 for appetizers. Drinks and cocktails are very good (no holding back on the alcohol!). Outside patio is nice and inside is cool and...More

Full disclosure, I live in a city with VERY limited Mexican food options so when I travel to Dallas, I make sure to get my fix and try a place recommended by locals. My nephew, a Dallas native, says Gloria's is in his top 5...More

The prior reply is correct. This is just as much a eating establishment as it is a bar. So, there are often parents with children eating at Gloria's. But, you have to be over 21 to be served an adult beverage... More

Gloria and Jose Fuentes were seventeen years old when they arrived to the United States in 1978. Like many other young Salvadorians, they were filled with hope - longing for a better life than what they were experiencing in a cruel and intense civil war, and civil chaos which lasted many years (decades) in El Salvador. Without knowing each other, Gloria and Jose settled in Houston, Texas and faced the precarious existence and survival difficulties of undocumented immigrants for some time. Now we're cookin' Fatefully, love created a miracle when they met and moved to Dallas to work with Gloria's sister at a Salvadorian restaurant, which her sister owned in Oak Cliff. A year later passed, and Gloria's sister gave up on the restaurant and Gloria and Jose chose to take over. Despite all the obstacles, and showing amazing resilience and a persistent work ethic, their life was beginning to change for the best. Playing an entrepreneurial role - with no previous knowledge - they registered the assumed Gloria's name before the Dallas County Clerk on April 15, 1986. A few months later they became legal U.S. Residents under the amnesty provisions of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. Under Jose and Gloria's management, the little Salvadorian restaurant became distinguished for their tasty food. It was so full of flavor that an undercover critic of the Dallas Morning News gave them a very positive review. The next day there was a considerable line of Anglo clients waiting under the summer sun of Dallas, for an opportunity to indulge in the new and delicious dishes. Even William "Bill" Clements, Jr., The Governor of Texas at the time, was one of those curious customers. Gloria's growth has been a constant ever since then. Now boasting 15 Texas locations, the restaurant still serves the same delicious Latin cuisine that has been satifying hungry Texans for over 25 years.
