Really liked the Rueben and Fries. Atmosphere and service also very good. The slaw has curry in it so I did not like it.

Food was very good, service was a bit slow both times, thus the 4 out of 5 stars. I will go back again!

This quaint restaurant and pub is a local favorite. True Irish cuisine awaits as you enter the unassuming entry. Perhaps the favorite menu item is the fish and chip plate. There is a yummy beer cheese soup that is a nice appetizer and quite filling...More

The atmosphere was excellent, with drummers playing on the porch. The service was amazing. But the best thing was the food. We had shrimp and chips, and shrimp were huge! Also, fish and chips! The cod was cooked to perfection! The coleslaw is made with...More

That's when we usually go. Great food friendly staff. Shepherds pie or the fish and chips are our usual. But everything is excellent. Awesome owners.

Nice room and nice atmosphere for a group of about 12 people. My group was a little larger and needed to be split into a group of 12 and a group of 4, so that was not so convenient. Good and drinks were very good...More

My husband and I stopped here for lunch. Arriving at the back door, which has a parking lot, we meet at the door and asked to go to the front. This was not an easy task. With all the roads adjoining being one way streets,...More

Richard M: I read our online reviews frequently. Of course we love the good ones & are disappointed in ourselves for the negative ones, but try to move on & do better the next time. Yours has kind of stuck in my craw........"the stuck in the 70's" thing. Although we change our menu annually, I've always treated the "Celtic Classic" section of our menu like a sacred cow. On a recent trip to the coast, my husband & I visited two of our favorite Irish Pubs & realized their "Celtic Classics" was exactly like ours. YOU ARE RIGHT.....we are all stuck in the 70's. Even in Ireland, pub menus are more modernized. I've always wanted McGee's Irish Pub to be it's unique self.......not so much a replication of a pub in Ireland, but a reflection of the Ulster Scot history of our locale in the Appalachian foothills. Therefore, in the spirit of moving into the new millennium, we are updating our menu with more "signature entrees" - inspired by our area's Scot-Irish cultural history, but with modern presentations & preparations. I hope you will return, try a few, & tell us what you think. (P.S. We're keeping the Fish n Chips though).
