We passed this restaurant by chance during the day and decided to try it in the evening. Staff very helpful but we were given no menu. We were shown the selection of meze and was told there was lamb, chicken, fish etc to follow. We ordered meze starters without being sure of the cost or what we were having as... More

Hanende allows you to taste true Turkish home cooking: unpretentious and delicious. Two prices: small plate (8Tl) & large plate (20Tl). Choose from the display of dishes which is explained to you carefully. Enjoy under massive mulberry tree in quartyard. A real gem.

Took the ferry over from quiet Datca for a day out but overwhelmed by all the tourist restaurants and their touts. Walked just a little away from the sea-front and surprised to find exactly the sort of place we were looking for. Local freindly Turkish owners, old building, shady courtyard, and great home cooked food all for 35 lire (About... More

This is a little hidden gem. Only a couple of blocks back from the water but a world apart from the over priced touristy restaurants all serving the same food. In a beautiful little courtyard around a big tree is a small canteen style servery with the choice of 6-8 homecooked meals. We had two vegetarian options, one with eggplant,... More

Amazing place to go, don't miss it! Just two minutes away from the always-busy Caddesi street, alongside the Marina. Beautiful old ottoman style house, very original and preserved, built around a 100 year-old tree. Very charismatic and inspiring, compared to the touristy areas around. The perfect place to chill out with a glass of turkish tea! You can either sit... More

Hanende was recommended by an American (another former Peace Corps Volunteer0 we met in Selcuk. We ended up eating there every night we were in Bodrum. The food was the best in local fare, the staff was obviously proud of their cooking, plus, when we mentioned we were looking for something, they would take us through the side streets to... More
