This restaurant was recommended by the concierge at the hotel. Upon entering the facility at 8PM, it was nice and spacious. However, it was eerily empty save for another table. We ordered fried rice, duck, beef and dumplings. The fried rice and duck were absolutely terrible. The other dishes were just ok, but not to the caliber of most other... More

The prices were high for KL standard, but you get a private room so that counts for something. We tried quite a few dishes including Dongpo Pork (very good), scallion pancake, fresh water shrimps (the only dish that was below expectation), xiaolong buns (acceptable, but great), pan fried pork buns (again, just average), various vegetable dishes. All in all, they... More

The decoration of the restaurant was impressive even at the entrance being 2017 is the year of roster- the golden roster was part of the decoration. The ambience was good, the selection of the food was good, the Chee Cheong fun with the crispy duck was also good and it was one of their signature dish. The Dim Sum selection... More

Shanghai Restaurant is located on the 1st floor of the JW Mariott. If you like Dim Sum they have a decent selection and you can try their ducks tongue or chee cheong fun with the crispy duck or fried eel.

We stayed at the JW Marriot for 2 nights on a stop over in KL and decided to try this restaurant on the 3rd floor of the hotel. We live in Sydney and have easy access to a wide array of Asian cuisines, but this was easily the best Chinese food I have tasted. The staff are all wonderful! Attentive,... More

We (8 people) had a nice lunch at this restaurant but the food was not what I expected. I don't know if I'm used to a different type of Chinese food or what but for instance the spring rolls were very small and they were stuffed with pre-processed chicken instead of real meat. The sweet & sour pork didn't have... More

The food is pretty good. The service is top notch and the pan fried dumpling is extremely crispy and delicious. The xiao long bao is pack with flavors and soup inside. I would recommend going to this place.
