Finally convinced the wife (who's not into any kind of raw meat or fish) to try out sushi here. She loved it! And so did the kids. Great atmosphere and many local guests. Really delicious sushi and I got a chance to try out a lot of stuff I don't get in sushi restaurants at home.

Conveyor belt sushi in Kyoto Station. Sushi is fresh and reasonably priced. Lots of choices with types of fish you will probably not easily see outside Japan. Dont be scared by waiting lines as they go by very fast.

Lovely place to guy for an easy dinner. Good sushi for a good price. The first "train" we found in Japan:) It's a good to place to go after visiting all the shops in the streets round the restaurant. It's not a restaurant for a fancy dinner. But good food

Amazing sushi made right in front of you at very good prices! If you cant see a sushi you want on the conveyer belt you can just ask the chef and it will be made and delivered directky to you. Green tea was on tap and pickled ginger was free. Highly recommend!

Always seemed busy which is a good sign. I dont particularly like Japanese food but this was a really interesting... More

Excellent sushi, very fresh and made in front of you. Each plate costs on average less than £2, really good value for money. Highly recommendable!

Having conveyor belt sushi was fun and the staff were friendly, but the sushi was just... bad. I guess you get what you paid for.

This is a great place for delicious sushi. We had some to take out last night and ate in today. Really good fish. Very accommodating, making my picky daughter just what she wanted. Worth a visit or two!

This place had good reviews on TripAdvisor, so we decided to give it a try. Had to queue for 15 minutes at about 630pm on Friday night. Food was fresh and very quick which was great with a tired 4 yr old. Sushi was fresh and good quality. When the bill arrived and it was 3000 yen for 2 adults... More

Staying in City Center

Neighbourhood Profile
City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.
