We fancied sushi and Musashi was close to our hotel so thought we'd try it. It was very popular and we had to wait inside on a bench for about 5 to 10 minutes but that was ok as there's so much to see. Got seated upstairs and loved picking our plates from the conveyor. It was easy to work... More

We tried out Musashi because it was close to Teramachi and in the middle of the Sanjo-Kawaramachi intersection. Hence, of course, it was swamped with people...standing room only. We chose to wait and ate upstairs with all other non-smokers. The sushi was average but the variety was outstanding. The price was a popular average for downtown Kyoto sushi. We are... More

The most popular items move along a conveyer passed your table. Everything was delicious. Budget-friendly does mean poor quality.

This place is superb! The sushi is good and fresh, they have various kind of sushi, traditional ones. I think you can find any fish possible for sushi here. They have beef too! I tried the roasted beef sushi and it was okay, quite unique and yummy. Anddd the best part is, it's very affordable. The price based on the... More

We have eaten a lot of sushi both here in Japan and abroad. This sushi train was ok - some were very tasty others very average. We went on a Saturday night and it was quite busy but the wait wasn't long. The sushi was fresh and there was a lot of variety. If you're in the area and want... More

From the running sushis, this one is the best in Kyoto. Its value for money is the highest. The fish is fresh and for good price. They have some specials of the day, so check also those! If your choice is not running, ask the chef, they were very kind :)

So many options and it was very fresh! I had like 10 plates and it only came out to roughly 18$! Was so worth it

Great Sushi taste on top of the most delectable Japanese rice. Comparing this with the Sushi belt at Kansai International Airport, this one's much better.

The sushi was really good and it was a really good price too. It was so good I came back for dinner the next day.

Staying in City Center

Neighbourhood Profile
City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.
