We decided to try this restaurant based on the Trip Advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. In fact we ended up eating there twice while we were in Kyoto. Conveniently reached by many buses heading to the Gion area, you can also walk from the Shijo-Karasuma shopping street area (15-20 minute walk), from the Nishiki Market area (10 minute... More

To start off, the sushi was great. They put the right amount of wasabi, the rice is soft and nice and the fish itself is fresh and great. You can also order what you want if its not on the belt so that's great. The only issue I have with the restaurant is that, after enjoying it a lot on... More

A must visit if you are in central Kyoto. A true Japanese experience rubbing elbows with salarymen, students and every other walk of life. Very fresh, and don't be afraid to try everything that comes by.

Best I've ever had and I've been eating it all my life. So good I decided to go 3 times. And it's cheap! Staff speak great English as well. Ookini!

If you're keen for some sushi you must come here! Cheap, central Kyoto and delicious sushi - you don't even need to like raw meat and you'll enjoy it!

Not a bad place. service is good and very cheap for lunch. Unfortunately it wasn't a place that I would rush back too. Not that there were any issues, there was just nothing to seperate this from the other places I had been too. Would go there if I was walking past but wouldn't plan my day around it.

Good sushi on the go. It's nice that you know what you are taking before you grab it. They have some exotic stuff

Staying in Shinkyogoku Shopping District

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinkyogoku Shopping District
Those who delight in shopping and cuisine will find themselves at home in Shinkyogoku. Lauded and visited by locals for its Nishiki Market, where baskets of fragrant spices, dried fish, and just-fried foods are piled high along the snaking streets of its enclosed outdoor shopping spaces, Shinkyogoku is not only a hub for fresh fare, but also for fast fashion fixes. Trends-in-the-making can be spotted in the tall windows of several one-of-a-kind stores featuring local labels and modish boutiques. Arcades, outdoor concert spaces, mega department stores, and small, enchanting cafes have sprung up to accommodate the increasing traffic. Whether looking for souvenirs and kitsch on Shinkyogoku Street, or scoping out the massive food court and restaurant floor at Takashimaya Department store, there's something for every wallet or purse, and a buyer for every item.
