The four points I'm giving this place are essentially split into two components: the food, which was just about the five point maximum and the interior of the place, which was in-between 3 and four points. To start of with the food was the pizza...authentic. Often enough when trying out pizza abroad does it not reach the Italian standard we are so used to here in Europe, which can not be said for Goichi - the guys did an excellent job. When it comes to the interior though, wasn't it all that fantastic. It was clean for sure and all that, but somehow plastic and felt just too utilitarian in terms of eat, enjoy and that's that. No need overstaying. What can be remarked as well was the fact that we managed to get a table without reserving days in advance, which is not common for the good pizza spots in Kyoto.More

One of the great things about Tripadvisor is the ability to look up reviews on restaurants in places that are unfamiliar. We checked out this pizza restaurant on the basis of consistently good reviews and were not disappointed. To be honest, if you simply stumbled...upon this place with no foreknowledge, you might well overlook it. Don't expect fine dining, tables and seating is pretty basic and the decor, well eclectic, to say the least. The pizzas are excellent as well as being sensibly priced. We washed ours down with some excellent Italian red wine, again sensibly priced at around 4500 yen. Would certainly recommend for those who are in need of a pizza fix...More

Came to this place after reading the reviews and it did not disappoint! Tasty pizzas and pastas with really nice chilli oil to top. The owner was so friendly and attentive and had great banter. Thanks for having us!

I am obviously in the minority. I don't find plastic bucket chairs, dirty graffiti on the walls, formica tables and overly casual attitudes anything to rave about. Certainly not in the mid range dining category! I can't comment on the food (it might have been...fabulous) l didnt stay! Certainly, the waiter was a very pleasant chap.More

I liked their food, especially the pizza! The portions were a bit small, but that’s the japanese part I think. I would return!

Husband needed a pasta fix and we headed here for it. Really enjoyed the lasgna that I had and husband enjoyed his food also. Waiter allowed us to taste the wine before buying which was good as the prices were not cheap (as they are...in Japan). Friendly service. Can recommend this restaurantMore

Some of the best pizza I’ve eaten anywhere in the world, and I’ve been to Italy. They have a real pizza oven which makes a big difference, along with an Italian cook, according to the owner. And, my wife was very pleased by some French...fries. Do yourself a favor and take a break from Japanese fare for a meal. You will not regret it.More

Really great late night pizza. We had the Diavola . Perhaps the type of salami they’re using is a bit on the salty side, but the crust is so good it makes up for anything. Nice service. Casual and not fussy.

This place is a great example of what Japan does so well. Great authentic tasting food served by passionate staff who really care about their customers. Amongst the best pizza I have eaten anywhere in the world. Great salad, starters and wine as well...Complementary home...made limoncello rounded off the meal perfectly! This will become a regular stop when I am in Kyoto.More

This little gem of a place has excellent Italian fare. The dishes were outstanding. The pizza crust was a bit like bobolli so I would pass on pizza here but try the main dishes. We had Lasagna and the arancini. Both were outstanding.

I think the answer is yes: they have pizzas that do not use meat and I am sure you can ask them not to use cheese.
