Food is amazing! There was a queue to get in (always a good sign). Simple menu - pork of various varieties - but all super tasty! And only 3250 yen for 2 people, and completely full. Definitely recommend it.

This soup base of the ramen is very unique. Not like what i had tried before. The price is also very reasonable.

The Ramen was very tasty, obviously a great base/stock. The bowl was huge and filled to the brim, there was plenty of roast pork slices and mice noodles topped with a nice layer off spring onions. We had a side of Kimchi which was fantastic and woukd have loved to have taken sime back to Australiax.

This place is very close to Kyoto Station on a side street. Although I am a tonkotsu ramen lover, the Shoyu Ramen here is awesome! It is a full flavorvshoyu ramen. I would definitely come back when I am in Kyoto.

Had lunch around 2 so the queue was short and we didn't wait long. I went for the very tasty special, which is a large bowl indeed, and was satisfyingly full by the end. After a couple of days in Kyoto I would say it was excellent value.

Came across this place from tripadvisor and decided to try it out. Although theres a small wait outside they still show you the menu (available in english as well) and let you order, so when we got a seat and sat down the food only took a couple minutes to come. The broth was amazing as well though it could... More

I've walked past this restaurant multiple times and there's always people queuing outside. Out of curiosity I decided to join the queue one day. They indeed serve delicious flavoursome ramen. My kids (3yo and 1yo) loved it so much they sat in their chairs the whole time we were there. Note: Although the restaurant is small, they do have high... More

Great price for the ramen! Also had dumplings, which were pretty good. A recommendation for everyone who's in the area.

A very comfortable and tasty bowl of ramen! There's a homely feel from the moment you step into the shop, to the time you slurp down their noodles. The ramen is not your typical ramen. The noodles are thicker, there's no egg, but there is a generous serving of pork, negi and bean sprouts. The soup is not creamy but... More

Staying in Shimogyo-ku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shimogyo-ku is centered around the busy train hub, Kyoto Station. A nexus for commerce, shopping, dining, and hotels, the Shimogyo-ku area is infused with tourists and local business travelers, making it a competitive location for ever-new commercial structures. The shops and cafes here are chic and trendy, as a result, with many recognizable chains. Commuters flood the Shimogyo-ku area twice a day, and with Kyoto Station itself being a modern mega-complex and an architectural marvel, this neighborhood is one of the most contemporary and energetic areas that the city has to offer. Buildings here look futuristic, and huge department stores, shopping arcades, and public meeting spaces provide every possible convenience. It is also nearly the only place in Kyoto where rooftop dining and socializing is available, completing its modern tone.
