We like okonomi so much we make it at home after being initiated to it in Ukiah at Eco's, by the chef from Hiroshima. But what we had at Hassei was better than anything we've tasted previously. The blend of flavors was unique and delicious. It was also fun to watch the cooks bring it all together right in full... More

Very good okonomiyaki prepared at the moment by some very friendly people! The price is very fine and for us or olonomiyaki was enough for two!

The good: - service, extremely friendly and go out of their way to make sure you're taken care of - food was amazing - cheap!! Especially in comparison to its neighbours The bad: - it's small (about 20 seats) so you might come all the way and not be able to eat here Tips/ recommendations: - try the beef ribs... More

This place is close to the entertainment district but a little hard to find, look out for the faded sign on the front. It was worth the effort. We went early evening as we were on our way back from sightseeing, and we were glad we did as we saw so many people being turned away. The open kitchen was... More

It is like a "dive bar" - fun crowd, service was good, food was ok. May have been the flavors were just not for us. Open kitchen - great to watch the cooks. If you are a connoisseur of Okoneaku - then this is probably your place.

Went to Hassei, based on TripAdvisor reviews. Setting was nice, typically Japanese Okonomiyaki place. We were seated at the bar, so we could follow the entire cooking process from up close. Unfortunately this means you get to see how often the microwave is used... Food was Ok, but nothing exceptional. Good eat at very reasonable price.

Wow! Everything that it was written up to be. Great food, great staff and fantastic atmosphere. Greatly to be recommended, but do book. We saw loads of people being turned away.

This restaurant was hyped up a lot for me and it was indeed good. The food was very yummy, the staff were lovely and the restaurant had a nice vibe. It doesn't seat too many people so try to book if you can. We didn't book but we're lucky that they had a time break before their next booked table... More
