I love Sushi and as I stayed on the Sayen hotel it was a must go I believe. As the weather was nice I selected to sit outside in the garden. Nice atmosphere and every table is separated to others by bamboo - makes it more personal but still open. My waitress led me to a nice table and provided... More

This restaurant is quite expensive for Irkutsk. But food was fresh, quickly served & tasty. Portions are quite big. In summer they serve at a very nice terrase outside surrounded by trees. Just be aware - there are moskitos.

We tried a dinner at Kyoto because we love Japanese food and it was at our hotel (Sayen). Atmosphere was nice and confortable, service was attentive and food well prepared. We tried sushi with Omul caviar, a speciality that you can find only in Irkutsk. The fried pineapple dessert was nice too. Price range of 25 EUR per person.

We enjoyed the break from Russian train fare and thought the quality of the food was excellent. Service was passable, but the thing that did annoy us were people who were smoking inside. Oh well, that's local rules of course. All the Japanese staples were good, but especially enjoyed the sashimi.
