We dined with a large group. We made reservations in advance and ordered food well in advance, as we knew from past experience that it takes a very long time to prepare. The service is good, the room is nice. And the food is passable. In the very center there is a restaurant with decor a la hunting, on the walls and in the openings there are stuffed partridges, a moose head, and in the window there is a stuffed bear. We stopped here for lunch after our disappointing visit to the Vyborg Castle. The food was fine and the beer cold. It was not gourmet by any stretch, but certainly edible. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. My son had the bear ("medved" in Russian), and he liked it because it was new and different. I do not eat meat, and the non-meat options were limited to grilled vegetables and bread, both of which were good even if not inspired. The restaurant location is central to the castle and along the street where there are some tourist shops and an very interesting antiques store. You could do worse than this by a long shot.

My husband and I visited Vyborg and everything was wonderful until we stopped to eat at Medved’ restaurant. Location is great but that’s it. The interior is from Russia’s late 90s, menu is very basic except for wild game. The service was not very good: the waitress seemed to be unhappy that we showed up, we asked about the ingredients of some dish and she couldn’t explain or didn’t bother to. I have ordered creamy soup with salmon and I didn’t finish it: the fish tasted weird. Wine was okay. 2 stars for the wonderful location.

So good! A very pleasant surprise in a distant city.

As the city is not swarm by tourists, there are not so many places in Vyborg to eat. This one is right in the center of the old town, very close to the castle. This is hunter's type restaurant - in addition to regular types of meat, they offer some local meat variety. We went for a regular choice though. And it was a very good one! The service was very polite and professional. Manner of serving the food is in high standard. Don't miss this one!

Have eaten there twice in the last week with family and friends. Everything we have tried has been good. Menu is extensive and service is good for the area. The only complaint was the morel mushrooms in the fried mushrooms and potatoes were a little gritty. Price is reasonable. Three mains, three salads, one soup, two beers, four wines, and four desserts was 4500 rubles.

This restaurant was excellent! We made a reservation because the evening before it was full. We had tree course dinner with zakushas, mixed game for two (bear, elk & boar) and cheesecake. The restaurant is a bit more expensive than the other we went to in Vyborg, but definitely worth every rubl. Suomeksikin sai palvelua ja karhunliha oli mahtavaa!
