Me and my mother came here for dinner our first night in St Petetsburg and had a wonderful meal. The atmosphere and decoration here make it feel as if you ate in someones home; warm, cosy and informal. There are wooden logs, and an open smoker where you can watch food being prepared from some tables. Highly recommend the russian... More

I stumbled into this place while looking for food and warmth, caught almost by surprise by an early snow. The atmosphere looks very warm and Russian to my foreign eyes, kind of what I would imagine a "Russian" place should be. I had an excellent mushroom soup and roasted lamb with coriander and fresh onions - both dishes were rather... More

Right on Newski prospekt we went down the stairs to a restaurant that felt like a "Datcha" with wooden walls and posters. Food was good, service friendly, and prices very reasonable. Good place to go to!

If you want to have true Russian cousine with an old soviet interior then this is the place to visit. Located conveniently in the beginning of busy Nevskyi prospect, this place offers true homemade local food. We tried soups, salad, meatballs, pancakes, pelmeny's and everything was soooo good. They even offer the tea in old glasses. And then you wait... More

Kind of quaint resteraunt which we visited at we were staying quiet close. My meal was very tasty. The borsch was nice but not like any borsch I have ever had. I also had a lamb dish that was delicious. My wife had a chicken kebab basically and it used chicken breast which is easy to be on the dry... More

Fantastic food and drinks. Solyanka (lots of meat soup), shashlyk (kebab), vodka (no explanation necessary). Very cozy with Soviet flair. Might need to bring a Russian friend to help navigate thru the menu. Very authentic!

This basement restaurant is charmingly designed to look like a dacha (country retreat) of the Soviet era. The food is inexpensive and delicious, true Russian home cooking. Don't miss the potato pancakes or the honey cake.

You enter the basement from street level and the entire restaurant is made to look like a typical Russian Dascha including crowing rooster. I had tea which is served with free sushki, borsch which was very good and pelmeni with pork and sour cream - very tasty and the portions are big, couldn't finish my main course and didn't have... Beautiful rustic interior. They're really working the traditional Russian dacha (summer house) theme - from curtains to rooster noises greeting you when you walk through the door. The food is mostly traditional Russian homemade stuff, and the portions are quite large, so you'd feel full pretty soon. We came during the "season of chanterelles" and they were serving chanterelle soup,... More
