I've visited this place for dinner. The menu has images of the food which makes it easier to order food as the english language of the staff is limited.

Very nice restaurant specializing in central asian food, though some russian dishes are available. Nicely located in the pedestrian area of Old Arbat.

Just off the Arbat pedestrian walk way is a very pretty place where I had dinner one Saturday night alone. The shaslik was alright, The dumplings were quite good and the cheese bread delicious. Melted cheese between two pieces of fresh cooked break dough. Sort of like a pizza. Good staff. Great people watching.

Good food - we had tomato salad, flat breads and chicken skewers. All delicious. Nut biscuits and perfect strong coffee to complement biscuits. Food was all good, helpful photo menu with English, nice relaxed atmosphere and good view of kitchen and chefs. We arrived at end of long day of travelling, stayed 2 hours and left feeling relaxed and well... More

Went to this place tired and hungry one night after a long day of sight seeing. It was near where we were staying and seemed convenient. We were very pleasantly surprised by our meal. We had aubergine dip kind of salad to start followed by afghan style kebab and "plov" (rice dish). All was extremely tasty and went down a... More

I ordered a herb bread to start but was then told that the mains I could have had run out. I didn't expect much vegetarian food but I'm not otherwise fussy. There was really nothing else I could put together so I ordered another bread/pastry based dish. The waiter kept trying to tell me that it was just bread and... More

With our limited Russian and the staff's limited English the pictures on the menu made it possible to order a fantastic meal at this place. But the pictures do not do the food justice and the English translations are a English as a second language teacher's dream. Language salad (cold tongue) was especially notable. But the herb pastry was actually... More

This place had table free outside, whereas most of ul. Arbat was crowded. Not always a good sign, but we had a great meal here. English menu available with pictures (again can be a worry), but the waiters have no English so its the usual pointing and cross referencing with the Russian version. We had no idea what we were... This is an Uzbek restaurant just off the Arbat pedestrianised area. Lovely food, helpful staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Recommend it if you are looking for something other than Beef Stroganof.

Our experience was ok but not outstanding. We arrived at 8 pm and when we tried to order some of our meals had "run out". There was only beer as an alcoholic drink and we kept feeling they were shutting up and waiting for us to finish. No desserts offered. After paying the bill and rounding the price up, the... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Crowds of tourists, both local and international take in Old Arbat and its modern and gigantic peer – New Arbat. One reason visitors keep coming is no doubt Konstantin Melnikov’s famous private house, now open to the public and worthy of a visit. After exploring one of the oldest parts of Moscow, avoid the crowds and turn to the side streets and boulevards where calmness and affordable food is plentiful.
