About
Casa Bunicii has lot to offer in terms of local cuisine, traditional food and traditional cooking technique. We produce almost everything in house and we don't use any artificial or ready made ingredients. Our interior is designed in a warm and homy way. For the kids we have an indor and outdoor playround and a special train animator who play with them durrind dinner time.In the summer we move out to our green, luxuriant garden.

If you are looking to have a traditional and tasty meal, you have to try this restaurant. With a great location and atmosphere, unique plates and very kind staff, it’s one of the best restaurants in Timisoara for sure

I had here my two year old baby anniversary dinner last week and everubody had a wonderful time, the food was very tasty and the service was friendly and attentive.
I choosed the Aged Prusiana beef entrecot steak (59.95 lei) and it was pretty good, it had a nice taste though could have been a bit more tender, I found it much better then what you get on the steakhouses in town and at a much better price.
I tasted also my wife's Beef cheeks (49.95 lei) and they were excellent, very tender that it was melting in your mouth, definitely recommend you try it.
Chicken skewers (29.95 lei) were also excellent, flamed in Cognac had an amazing taste and was also very interesting to watch, definitely a must try.
Chicken breast with dill sauce (25.95 lei) was again excellent, great taste and also the meat was so tender that again, it was just melting in your mouth.
Overall, we had a wonderful time, everything was excellent, from the tasty food to the impeccable service, for sure one of the best Restaurants in the city, I will return and for sure, I will recommend it to anyone else.

We have randomly found this place using a Home Delivery App and it was love at first taste! Since then, we kept ordering and the food was always super tasty! The packaging was also neat and compostable.
We finally managed to get to the restaurant and we were not disappointed. The delicious food and the garden where the terrace is placed were the best combination to make our evening special.
It definitely is one of our favourite places to eat in Timișoara and we highly recommend it.

Nice restaurant, cosy, nice staff, good food, reasonable prices, good location, became one of our favourite restaurants.
Suggestions to improve: lower time to serve, it takes aprox 30 to 40 minutes to get the dish from the ordering moment.
I was negatively surprised to see that a suggested small portion of ketchup that is not in the menu costs 10 RON, no more than 100g.
Overall nice experience, I recommend it for the meniu and good food.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at ,, Casa Bunicii '' , a comfortable and welcoming restaurant in the heart of Banat specializing in traditional Banatan cuisine . From the moment I stepped inside , I was surprised by the warm and welcoming atmosphere , wooden tables and chairs , colorful decorations and friendly staff .
The Banatean neck was a hit, with the vegetables and mozzarella on top, with the well-done exterior and the juicy and aromatic meat inside. The staff was happy to answer our questions about the food and the region and offered excellent recommendations for the dishes to try.
I warmly recommend "Casa Bunicii" to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic culinary experience in Banatian style. I can't wait to come back and try more of their wonderful dishes!

I’m really not one to write reviews, but the food at Casa Bunicii is great. This is my third time visiting the restaurant and I didn’t find one thing to not like. I loved the duck breast, it was very well cooked and the mash complements it perfectly. My friends had the pork leg which was melting in your mouth and the special fried chicken with cheese and bacon. They also have a few vegetarian options and the rice with grilled vegetables is superb.
The service was great too and the lady actually recognised us when we came the second time which I thought was really nice. Truly recommend for a dinner out with friends, family, or a cozy date.

My top choice whenever I come back home and I want to have the taste of traditional Romanian food (chicken in sour cherry sauce and leak potates for the win 😍). Top service and tasteful food, there’s a variety of dishes available for any kind of taste. I totally recommend! It’s not called Grandma’s Home for nothing!

Ordered pasta (spatzel) with pesto and as felt it needed some more Parmesan-I asked for some (shredded) and was charged (8lei) for it. Did not expect that. Soup does not come with bread, you pay for that too. My mom ordered pork tagliata and the meat was hard. The lemonade is not with fresh lemon but juice concentrate.
We also had spatzle with veggies (tomato sauce) and that was really good. The gulas (soup) was good as well.
Over all- average experience.

This restaurant is very expensive and full of unpleasant surprises. We ordered what was in the picture, but they added the price of the side dish that was shown in the picture and description to the bill. A polenta costs 4 euros, which is outrageous. I do not recommend it.

We apologize that your experience at our restaurant was not entirely satisfactory. Regarding our prices, we have to consider that the prices of any product are subjective and relative. Casa Bunicii is a restaurant with average prices, and we are confident that our prices are in line with the quality of our services and products.
At Casa Bunicii, prices are clearly specified on the menu, so that every customer can easily decide what to order and know exactly how much it will cost. In the case mentioned in your review, we understand that the price of the side dish was not clearly specified. We will be more careful in the future to be as transparent as possible in presenting our products and their prices.
Regarding the price of the polenta, we would like to mention that the price of the dishes in a restaurant reflects only to a small extent the cost of raw materials. The rest of the costs are formed by personnel costs, rent, utilities, and many others.. The price of the polenta is actually 2.55 euros, and we will be more careful in the future to present prices more clearly.

Casa Bunicii is the best place for you, especially if you want to taste some “bites” of Romanian traditional cuisine. You have a wide variety of choice and for sure you will find something that suits your taste. Also, the staff is very friendly, polite and caring. The place is very cosy, it really feels like you are at home and it is perfect for a lunch or a dinner with your friends/family/loved one!

If you want to have a real hedonistic experience, don't miss this gem of a restaurant. From a entrance, you will feel the family tradition with a twist of modern. It's a family run restaurant, from generations before. A very nice redhead lady with a beautiful smile will accommodate you perfectly ( sorry for missing her name). The whole menu is inspired with grandma's old recipes. With every bite you will feel burst of pleasure in your mouth. Don't miss the soups, eggplant salad, Grandma's plate, and pork ribs. At the end I had to unzip my pants. Overall 10/10

We have been here many times and we were never disappointed. For me this is one of the best restaurants in town. The food is great and delicious, they combine traditional food with innovative ingredients. My kid which is a pike one, loves the spatzle with meat and tomato, and also some other assortments from the kids menu like the duck soup and the chicken crisps. The service was always on time and made with a lot of care.

I was visiting my University city of Timisoara after many years of living in Canada and was craving for authentic
dishes from Banat. Found Casa Bunici restaurant with amazing food and pleasant staff. My preferred dish was “Fall Legends 2” a mouth watering duck breast with plums and for soup I had delicious goulash that came in a rustic pot. I couldn’t resist, and had to come back few more times in the week that I was in TM and tried sarmale, mici, Banat style pork, and they were all amazing.
Great place to meet with friends and family to celebrate with good food in a well designed ambience!

Casa Bunicii has really interesating and awesomely flavoured food. We had the chicken în cherry sauce, the mozzarella chicken, the spatzle with 3 kinds of cheese and the vegetarian lasagna and none of them dissapointed! They have a nice selection of meat free dishes, and their sweet are also really nice (we had the rhubarb tart and the plum dumplings). The eldelflower lemonade is a total blast as well, super fresh and flavoury.
The service was good, nothing to complain about, and the locations are cozy and autentic.
Fully recommend for meals at any point of the day, and it's a great place to eat out for families, couples or bigger groups.

Nice location with pleasant environment. No the closer to the city center but easily accessible with car or public transportation (+ walk). The service was very good in the restaurant but also on preparation. We were a large group, almost 30 people, and the preparation of each one's menu was done very well organized previously.
The food was also very good and nicely presented.
