Superb experience of local food and friendly service. Had the buffet which was explained in detail by the chef with a good variety of dishes.

Authentic buffet with 6 different kinds of meat/fish and about 6 different side dishes. All of the dishes are explained by the chef. As a vegetarian I even got a special offer of having only the sidedish buffet (which was still delicious)

Great local restaurant for Creole food, one of the best we had in La Réunion. The Creole buffet serves a wide variety of ‘cari’ options (fish, duck, sausages, vegetables, rice, papaya) with the famous spicy ‘rougail’ mixes as a side. The chef comes out of...his kitchen to give a word of explanation. Vanilla duck with lemon rougail was excellent. Full joint on a Friday night, mix of locals and tourists, so call to reserve in advance & enjoy!More

Went here for dinner during our holiday. Good and simple Creole buffet food. The duck vanilla was especially good! Had a very friendly waiter who really tried to help us, not being French. Good wine list as well!

This is one of the very good place we have tried for creole food and it was nice to taste several different carry there. All were good as well as the sides, including the tasty rougails. For beginners an excellent opportunity to try a variety...of traditional dishes. Nice and smiling service, easy location and a bargain for what ou can eat even if you have to help yourself.More

The restaurant is only open 1200-1330 and 1730-2130 so check it's open if you're going to travel here. I chose the Creole buffet which was billed at €19. The dishes are explained to you by an enthusiastic chef. The food all looked and sounded great....At first I found the taste a bit mild but then the subtlety of it came through and it was delicious. I don't know if I didnt eat enough because our total bill for food and two soft drinks was only €16.More

In a nutshell: go there, eat there! We had a very nice evening with delicious traditional food! The staff was very friendly and explained everything in detail what the local cuisine offered. We had the buffet - maybe too much to eat. ;-)

We turned up without a booking and were given a table no problem. Great explanation of the dishes for the buffet and we really enjoyed the food too. Fab place. Good value too for Saint Gilles.
