A friend suggested this restaurant because of the Michelin-starred chef Jamie Atherton connection. My first impression was very good - the interior was simple, classy and made predominantly of wood. I found the menu very “varied” that I didn’t really know what kind of a...restaurant it is. It is pricey ! We decided to try 3 items on the menu to share. We started with Seaweed crackers, wasabi & calamansi mayo which we both loved; specially the wasabi & calamansi mayo which we asked for extra serving. Then came the Pulled pork & smoked red pepper tagliatelle, confit egg yolk. The pulled pork has a “corned beef” consistency. I was expecting it to be a bit dryer. Don’t get me wrong, it is a beautiful dish and once mixed with the confit egg yolk, we enjoyed it very much. We even experimented with dipping the seaweed crackers on the sauce and it worked well. Then came the reason where I could not give a 5/5 score, The third item we ordered arrived way after we finished the first 2 dishes. I had to request the staff to check on it as i was tempted to cancel it. When the Truffle mac n cheese, glazed pork belly, smoked cheese, brioche crumb, the first thing I noticed was the “corned beef” looking glazed pork belly. It must be a favourite finish in the kitchen. The taste though was beautiful. I could smell and taste the truffle oil. It was generously used. The cheeses used for the dish was good. I had calamansi juice as there was nothing on the drinks menu that I was tempted to try. On the whole, the food was very good, i find it too pricey, the ambiance was nice.More
