brochette is a joke...white bread toast and a smattering of mystery topping. Other food is good. Pizza is un-remarkable but ok.

Love visiting this restaurant while staying on the Island. Mayra the owner is super nice. Abdiel, Celmira and Jhoan are so great. The restaurant is well kept and clean. The climb up the steps to the restaurant is totally worth it for the view. Beautiful...breezes keep you cool while dining on your delicious food. My favorite is the Filete de Corvina en espectacular salsa de Maracuya y Coco (sea Bass is special sauce of passion fruit and coconut). My husband loves his pancakes and eggs for breakfast and my daughters like the Pulpo (octopus) and the Deditos de Pollo (chicken fingers). It is all good. The prices are comparable with all the restaurants on the Island and in Panama. This isn't fast food - it is meant to be enjoyed.More

The hotel is probably the second-best on the island, therefore, I suggest to put in balance the good and the "exotic" factors. The restaurant is really outstanding. Very pleasant atmosphere and the dinner meals were absolutely delicious. I tried the tropical sauces, the Pizza, the...salad - everything was very tasty. The hosts are very nice and try to help in any way they can. Always with a smile. The hotel is positioned only minutes from the landing dock of the ferry, just across the street from ones of the beaches, and still in "downtown" Taboga. It is very cutely decorated, with vintage everything and a mixed colonial and French theme. If you are staying overnight, you may choose to pay just a bit more and take one of the rooms with air conditioning, as they are better in more ways than one, including space. One has to take into account the inexpensive rooms and expect no fridge, no hair-drier, no working bed-lamps, and no luxury features. Remember that it is pretty difficult to get across any specific requests if you do not speak Spanish. Also, there are a total of 65 steps from the street level to your room, so take that into consideration in case someone in your party has any mobility issues. Keep in mind that you are on a tropical island, with no screened windows and a hot and humid climate, meaning you may encounter tiny ants in the bathroom, or even the odd mean-biting little fly. Make sure you pack some insect repellant if you are skin-sensitive.More

Because we had enjoyed a nice lunch here on a previous trip to Panama in 2010, my husband and I decided to try it again. Unfortunately the whole experience was a disaster! As we walked up the steep steps to this restaurant, we were first...struck by the garbage strewn all over the hotel property. An older waiter seated us on the balcony and took our drink order first. I asked for a glass of ice water and he brought me a bottle of water ($$) instead without saying a word. I speak fluent Spanish so communication was definitely NOT an issue. My husband ordered chicken fingers with fries and I ordered the sea bass grilled in garlic and white wine with rice. After taking our order, the waiter returned to inform my husband that there were no fries so he changed to rice as well. I also ordered a side of garlic bread at that point because we were very hungry. After a long wait (there was only one other party in the whole restaurant) he brought us four small pieces of bread as hard and cold as Melba toast without a whisper of garlic flavour. Finally, he brought out our meals. My rice was cold and the fish (definitely not fresh) was covered in a gelatinous sauce with no garlic or white wine to be detected. My husband's chicken fingers with honey mustard sauce turned out to be fish fingers with tartar sauce! We immediately brought this to the waiter's attention who admitted his mistake and took the plate back to the kitchen. About a minute later, he returned to inform us that they had no chicken fingers. At that point, I had already started my meal and we didn't have time to go to another restaurant before our ferry departure. My husband reluctantly agreed to just eat the fish since he was hungry and clearly out of any better options. When our bill arrived, we were shocked to see that they charged us full price for his meal! The waiter admitted that it was his fault but if I didn't pay, he would be deducted the difference from his pay. I was furious and asked to speak to the manager. I'm not sure if this older woman was the owner or manager but she was rude to both of us and simply said 'you eat it, you pay'. This was the worst and MOST EXPENSIVE meal of our trip ($36 USD). We will NEVER return to this place again and in the future will tell everyone we know to be sure to bring enough cash to Taboga to eat elsewhere (this is the only place that takes credit cards).More

Pictured: Fish Fingers, pizza (asked for it tostado because I like it crispy) and pasta alfredo. Delicious piña coladas, accommodating staff!

This restaurant was recommended by the proprietor of the hotel in which we stayed, down the street. The server was excellent and kept a good attitude when he was obviously super busy (they're only open from about 6:30-8:30). I had the house special corvina with...passion fruit/coconut sauce and it was insanely good. I still have dreams of it. My wife had spaghetti and it was good as well. During our second visit I had the pork which was good but not as good as that delightful corvina. I would definitely recommend Vereda Tropical. Tip: bring a sweater as it can get chilly from the breezes if you sit outside.More

Went here for lunch. We sat outside and the view and tropical breeze was lovely. We had the Greek salad and it was delicious. Staff are friendly and attentive. Would definitely go back.

We both ordered a curried fish dish. The fish was quite thin and heavily breaded, then fried with a little sauce on top. Side dish was also heavily fried.

This is one of the best choices for dinning in the island. They had a great view and tehre was a fish with Maracuya crust or something that was absolutely perfect! The cockatails disappointed but the atmosphere was really good.

Vereda is the place to go when you are looking for a special experience. The food is good and beautifully presented. The view from the terrace is unbeatable and the cool breeze - especially in the evening - is soothing and gentle after a hot...day. The owner is a lovely woman who lives on the island and her staff are loyal and have been there for years which says a lot about the place. We love eating at Vereda and highly recommend it.More
