Came for lunch as we wanted to be able to do take out for dinner. Had a nice table overlooking the water. Nice meal, good service, reasonable prices for a resort restaurant.

Amazing location overlooking the water. We came in early in the day to check it out and decided to return for dinner. It took sometime for the owner/chef? to come to our table, He was seated at another table and I think we were disturbing...his game of something that looked like dominoes. We could see the meal being prepared through the common area of the B and B. I ordered a rice entree that was rather dry and unexciting and my husband had chicken that was ok. The soda was the same price as the beer, which actually isn't that uncommon. Sadly there didn't seem to be a lot of options for dinner on the island. These folks could have a gold mine if they can figure it out.More

Had lunch here. Lovely setting but this eatery provided the worst hamburger I've had in Panama. For Ted's info: brown lettuce and croutons, even with a lick of mayonnaise, does not make a caesar salad! Way over priced cafeteria type meals, not recommended at all.Where...was the award winning chef advertised? False advertising to grab the tourists? Don't fall for the hype. Victor BMore

My son, visiting from the USA, and I took the great ferry ride to Isla Tabago on a Sunday, because we didn't want to spend a whole day there. The restaurant was very nice and the owner or manager was very helpful and immediately informed...us that they were serving only drinks and no food. We asked him where else we might eat. He suggested a couple of options. Apparently, most of the restaurants are closed on Sunday, because I knew of no holiday that day. We ate at another restaurant. The food was okay, but the flies coming in the windows were awful.More

Getting out of the mid-day sun we enjoyed the nicest lunch at Ocean Rock Cafe. The choice was difficult so my boyfriend and I split the camarones (shrimp) in garlic butter and also a ceasar salad. Our friend Sandie also selected the camarones - fresh...from the sea! The entree came with a side of papas fritas (french fries), I keep trying to learn Spanish, especially food terms so I will not end up with some strange meal I do not know what it is!. Prices were reasonable, I think the camarones and fries were $11, the salad was $6 or $7. We enjoyed a table right next too and looking down on the waterfront. Ted, the owner, was very helpful and offers a nice menu with everything from burgers to seafood. I wish I would have had room for dessert. Maybe today - going back and will try something new :-) If you are on Taboga, Ocean Rock Cafe should be on your list of places to eat!More
Thank you for your comments and stop in again on your next Taboga visit.
We stayed in the actual bed & breakfast which was absolutely wonderful, however the restaurant experience was not good at all. We ate dinner there when we got in because the reviews were so good (and its really the only place on Taboga that has...reviews on TripAdvisor), plus the B&B and owner were really nice so we wanted to support his business. There was one other couple in the restaurant when we got there. It took at least half an hour before anyone took our food or drink order...we literally had to wait until the other couple actually received all their food before our order was even taken. Keep in mind the place is a beautiful converted home, but the 'restaurant' is actually just a nice patio with tables, and a regular home kitchen with one cook. Finally the owner came out and took our food and drink order. A while later I received my plate, but it was quite some time before my boyfriend received his and he had to snack on my food while he was waiting. By the time he got his food it had been about an hour since we sat down. We also never got our drinks, so after receiving our food we asked about them, and the chef said that the owner forgot to tell him about the drinks. He did make them quickly, though one of them was the wrong drink. Also, after eating part of his chicken, my boyfriend realized that it wasn't fully cooked in the middle, and he ended up having stomach problems all night and the next day. There was another woman having drinks inside who came out and told us that she had a similar experience the night before and that no one really knows whats going on there. I will say that the patio is wonderful, right over the ocean with nice views and a breeze. We did eat breakfast here since it was included with our stay, and that was just fine. Both the chef and owner are also very nice, but I would definitely recommend eating elsewhere on the island for your meals. The actual house and rooms are fantastic here and I would highly recommend staying overnight, but I think trying to run a restaurant out of the house is definitely more than they can handle.More
We wish to thank you for your comment on our services. We had new personal on your visit and our training was not complete and we were late in the food delivery, prep and general service. The help is trained and is far better now....More
great food, great view, and great people!!! We were there for 3 days and we will be back!
Loved the spaghetti dish (inexplicably good) and the chef comes out to ask how your meal is. Yes, you are eating in someone's house and you can see the kitchen, making you feel more like a house guest, but your table is on the balcony...overlooking the ocean. Please do go and eat here if you are on Taboga!More

I recommend this restaurant very highly. I've enjoyed several meals here and haven't yet been disappointed. The atmosphere is casual and very relaxing, with a great location right on the ocean. Don't miss it when you're visiting Taboga!
We had a couple of meals here and stopped in for a beer a few times. View is amazing, juts out over the water. Owner drops everything to accommodate you even during off hours. This is relatively new and the service is really good. Definitely...worth a visit.More
