One of the highlights of our trip to Boquete was dinner at Christopher’s. We had met Christopher, one of the owners, when we visited one of his other restaurants earlier in the week, so we already knew that he knew good food. We were not disappointed with this, his more “upscale” dining option: everything was both artfully presented and delicious. My husband had meatloaf with coconut risotto and vegetables, which included amazing grilled okra (not to be missed). I had a small serving of the Wagu beef, which is sold by the ounce so that one can sample it without breaking the bank. My 5 ounce portion was enough to feed me and give my husband a small taste. The service was just the right blend of professional, attentive, and friendly, from our servers Eddie and Rafael to another of the owners, Kathy, who came over and chatted with us for a few minutes. The wine list held a variety of well-chosen, reasonably priced options. My husband and I had a wonderful, ‘date-night” evening. The restaurant is cozy, with a limited number of tables, both inside and outside table, so reservations are recommended.

Christopher’s Bistro is a cozy, upscale restaurant that when crowded, tends to be noisy; however, less so on the back terrace. A small, half loaf of sliced homemade bread was hot out of the oven and served with garlic butter. The onion soup, topped with thick melted mozzarella cheese, was somewhat on the bland side but still tasty. The wedge salad was just the right size, blue cheese dressing light, cherry tomatoes sweet. The night's special was prime rib, at least 16-20 oz. and 2” thick(!), tender and flavorful. Although sautéed mushrooms were not on the menu, the chef was able to accommodate me. The twice baked potato was just the right size; and altho the creamed kale was good, there was too much thick cream and not enough kale. The only criticism I have is that it took a good half hour after I had finished my salad before the main entry was served; and unfortunately, by then, I was no longer hungry! But it made for a nice second meal the next day! My server, Eddie, was the BEST! He speaks English and was very attentive. Overall, I had a very pleasant dining experience and I highly recommend this new restaurant!

The service was great starting the minute you walked in the door. The Chef even visited out table several times to ensure that all was well. This was some of the best French Onion Soup I've had in years. My New York Strip was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I was hesitant to order the side of coconut risotto, but I'm glad I did. This was a great experience, Boquete needs a restaurant like this, It is similar to what I've come to expect from some of the larger cities in the world, great atmosphere, service, food and quality.

A friend recommended this restaurant. We made a reservation and when we arrived we were greated at the door by a friendly host who would also be our waiter. We sat outside which was very charming with illuminated trees which highlighted the rain as well. Our waiter was very charming and helpful. He talked us into getting a bottle of Melbec & a bottle of Chardonnay saying it would be cheaper. There was really good jazz playing which added to the coolness of the restaurant. I started with a salad and my partner ceviche. Both served with a warm fresh dinner roll. Excellent. For dinner I had the roasted cauliflower with vegetables and my partner had prawns. Both were outstanding. We did not get dessert. As we were leaving the owner met us outside and talked to us about our experience and apologized for not have a vegan dessert for me. A very nice touch to finish an outstanding meal by a top notch server.

So glad this spot opened.
Boquete has a lot of restaurants and Christopher's is definitely in the sweet spot.
It's elevated North American cuisine. That was absent prior to this place opening.
There are a few dishes that tip their hat to local flavors and ingredients, but this is solidly in the US comfort food arena.
I've been three times so far and had steak, fried chicken & grits, salads, soups and meatloaf (my wife is kind enough to let me taste her dishes too.)
The ambiance is nice. Quality furniture, the fixtures in the restrooms are properly attached (if you come to the area and need to use restrooms in local establishments you understand why I mention that) and the service is well-trained for the most part.
Definitely worth trying.

Chistopher co-owner and the head chef takes pride in creating dishes that are not only a feast for the palate but also a feast for the eyes. Each plate is a canvas, showcasing a masterful blend of flavors and textures. The menu is a culinary journey, offering a diverse range of options to cater to every palate.
We where a group of three couples enjoying dinner and started out with the Coliflor Tempura, Papa Asada soup, and Kale a la Crema, all dishes where visually stunning masterpieces that combined delicate flavors with a burst of freshness.
The main courses Coliflor Steak, Lemon Basil Chicken Breast and Saint Louis Ribs and Ribeye where all a revelation, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The chef's use of seasonal, locally sourced ingredients shone through in every bite. And let's not forget the delectable unique Chocolate Cake Tempura accompanied with vanilla Ice cream, smothered in Chocolate syrup topped with Bacon strips – a sweet symphony of flavors that left us craving for more.
Do not hesitate as it is an amazing culinary experience that you need to try when you are in Boquete.

Christopher Young’s Masterpiece
Tonight we visited Christopher’s American Bistro for the first time. Chris Young’s reputation is stellar, as was our meal.
We walked into a beautiful dining room. We were greeted immediately by a most friendly staff ( who even speak English). We started with a drink. My partner had a martini. For some reason it is hard to get a good martini in this country. Hers was excellent. I had a glass of wine from a nice, varied selection. Our server Jonathan brought us some piping hot bread with an interesting delicious butter.
For dinner my partner ordered a bacon wrapped filet. I went with the ribeye steak. The steaks were perfectly cooked and melt in your mouth tender. The veggies were fresh, crisp and tasty, as was the twice baked potato. The plates were beautiful. Great presentation! After a few minutes Jonathan checked up on us to make sure we were satisfied. That level of service is unusual in this area. A few minutes later Chris checked up on us….nice touch. He suggested we save room for the pecan pie with chocolate. Perfect ending for an excellent meal.
I asked Chris if I could see his kitchen. He graciously showed me around. It was immaculate.
We had a five star meal. We will be back soon. I highly recommend this jewel of a restaurant. You won’t be disappointed.

From the moment we arrived, the front of the house staff was absolutely impeccable anticipating our every need and making excellent suggestions. The food presentation was outstanding providing an extra level of anticipation of the food. The French onion soup and Caesar salad were very good and the perfect amount of food. My spouse apparently highly approved of his lemon basil chicken with twice baked potato since his plate was completely cleaned of all food. We will continue to visit regularly.

Several of us enjoyed a delicious dinner at Christopher's American Bistro. The food offerings were varied, creative and most importantly, delicious. Everybody raved about the cocktails, particularly with the big ice globe in the glass (excellent detail). I recommend the “Old Cuban”. We are looking forward to going back soon and continuing to try other things on the menu.
I had the Bacon wrapped fillet, with mash potatoes and veggies. The steak was season perfectly, and it was very tender and cook to my liking. It did remind me of a good Argentinian steak. My wife and another friend of ours ordered the chicken breast and said it was very tender. They were also offering lake trout as the special. Dessert offering that we chose was the s’mores. Needless to say they were excellent and finished off our evening in style.

Second time we've been here, this time with a celiac. Christopher came out and discussed the menu to be sure they felt safe to eat without reaction. The food is always excellent, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is warm and inviting.

My friends and I just finished a delicious dinner at Christopher's American Bistro. The food offerings were varied and all delicious. For appetizers, we had tempura cauliflower and chips with Parmesan cheese and dip. For entrées, my husband had the Argentinian steak (he said it was by far the best steak he has had in Boquete!), I had the tender chicken with artichokes and my friend had the trout. Our cocktails were all delicious and we enjoyed s'mores at the table for dessert! The service was excellent and we want to give give a special shout out to Rafael. The ambience was really pretty also, particularly sitting out on the deck overlooking the greenery and the mountains. The owner Christopher Young came by a couple times to make sure everyone was happy… And we were! We can't wait to go back and we recommend Christopher's American Bistro to anyone looking for a yummy meal in Boquete!

Christopher has given me the best dining experience I've had in years. Having tried all the restaurants in Panama that are top 100 in Latin America, this one has certainly been BRUTAL. The attention, the place, the risoto, the end of the meat, the garlic shrimp, the puree everything was very sensory and divine, not to mention it is very economical for what it offers, a 10 to everything, I will return a thousand times yes!

Excellent option to eat a good steak in Boquete, ribeye and St Louis ribs cooked to perfection, unbeatable quality and texture. Sophisticated atmosphere and passionate attention from the staff and owner who walks through the tables verifying that customers are well served. I will definitely return
