I sought out this tiny place, had a hard time finding it at first because I was too early—it does not open until 8:00 pm. That's late for me for dinner (their hours are great for the late-night bar-hopping crowd) but it was worth it. Gorgeous freshly made udon noodles in a delicious curry broth, their signature dish, though they... More

We went searching for Tsurumaru after reading reviews and so glad we did. The curry udon was to die for, not to spicy in a thick soup with super fresh udon! We arrived just after 8 and it was full of locals slurping their udon, such a great local hangout. By the time we were leaving there was a long... More

I will say that I visited almost 6 mo. ago, but I still remember eating here while I was visiting Naoshima + the art islands. Location - is a big part of the reason why I visited.. super close to the Takamatsu port, and a bonus is that it's close by a shopping arcade (is that what you call 'em?)... More

We ate on recommendation from the accommodation we were staying at. The service was quick and friendly and the English menu was easy to understand. The udon was firm and silky and the broth was clean with a delicate flavour.

Greatest Udon! you can directly watch the production of your udon. Besides, Tempura is also awesome.

the place was pretty packed on a Thursday night...I thought 700 for a small bowl of curry-udon was bit much (most places have it for 100-200 yen less)...I don't know about the noodles being anything special but the curry broth was fantastic...not too thick or too runny...pretty rare for curry broth to be good enough to sip as soup after... We ate here on a recommendation from the owner of Grandfathers Bar a few blocks away. The place was packed and it's easy to see why. The food is fantastic with the Udon noodles being made by hand on the main counter. Great flavours and great value, especially washed down with some Asahi. Takamatsu is the home of udon noodles... My husband and I ate here and loved it. The curry udon was delicious and the service was great. The woman who seems to run the shop was very helpful and knows enough English to get by. She even let my husband try cutting some udon because the shop was empty when we arrived. Highly recommended! A note on location:... More
