Recommended and booked for us by the hotel, it was seriously the most delicious and juicy beef we had during our stay on the island. We tried 2 other places and they didn't really compare. We ordered 2 serves of the most expensive sirloin meat plus other meat and a salad so we didn't have the cheapest meal between the... More

The restaurant is so full that I could not book a table in weekend. Try my luck by walk-in and get a table which we need to return in 45 mins. We try the same quality of wagyu in other restaurants of Ishigaki but Yamamoto offers much lower price. The only draw back of the experience is that I need... More

Came in and they instantly knew that it was me (I guess I was the only non-Japanese speaker there) and the staff treated me really well and made sure I had everything I needed. I got a set for around 6000 JPY with a wide variety of cuts. The Ishigaki beef itself is around 30% marbalized and melts in your... More

The Ishigaki beef is good, order the mixed sets for four if you have a group. Pricey but a good option for larger groups with that option. The staff is attentive and they have English speakers available.

An ok yakiniku place. The kimchi dishes a bit too fishy for my taste. The meat quality naturally according to price with the high quality very good. All meat quite marbled. However the lasting impression a bit to pricey for what we got.

I had a dinner with my wife. The restaurant is located approx. eight-minute walk away from the center of the town. We ordered several high-quality Ishigaki beefs at about 1500 JPY (12 USD) per plate (approx. 6 pieces). They were tasty, however, because of lots of fat included in high-quality beefs, my stomach started feeling heavy on the way to... More

Quite a pricey place, but it does have nice authentic atmosphere and great food. English menu was provided and the waiter who was serving us spoke quite fluently as well, explaining us the details of the menu patiently. The prices were a bit steep, but the quality of the food matched it well. Ishigaki beef was amazing as always and... More

Our booking was at 5:30pm. Yes, it was early. But you'd better go there early so all meat selections are available for you. Special Ishigaki beef steak was about 3000yen. It was fantastic and you'd pay 10,000 yen at any other places I want to go there everyday while we stay in Ishigaki but I didn't book. I definitely miss... More

After reading how famous Ishigaki beef is, I had to try. Apparently Yamamoto is very famous/popular bbq restaurant with individual grills for each table. As Yamamoto is not a large restaurant, recommend booking well in advance as the restaurant seems to stop taking customers after 7 pm as it looks like they want to close by 9 pm. No English... More
