We booked a table days in advance and arrived early as we read all the reviews. Upon entering it was a cloud of smokers, airport lounge-like. We sat at our table and looked over the options. The smokers were so intense we had to excuse ourselves. The food may be nice but we just couldn't stay. Good luck! (Maybe management... More

We had our expectations very high after two unsuccessful tries to get a table in this restaurant. We managed by the third time (went there around 5pm to book it) and were not disappointed. There is no English menu but the waiter has images of the dishes in his tablet - easy! We ordered the classic local dishes: assorted sashimi,... More

Be careful: no english menu and no english speaking staff. If you want to try a lot of okinawa food, try the surprise meal. 3,000 yen per person for 12 dishes. You cn only get it for 2 persons. Goya-chanpuru, the grilled fish and rafute were very good.

This is a great choice, but it gets crowded early, so be sure to try and come before 6:30 if you want a table. Also, this would be a really challenging choice if no one in your party speaks Japanese. If you lack a Japanese speaker, here are some great classic Ishigaki choices that will feed two to three people:... More

Limited menu and a bit pricey (800 jpy for just that much Champloo??) but still worth it. Father in law is a picky eater but he liked this so much we went 2 consecutive days. Very good jimami-dofu and excellent Asa-tempura. More an Izakaya than a real restaurant but quality food

No English menu, although we managed to figure out enough options by using a Japanese phrasebook. The usual items were all there --- pig ear salad, sea grapes, etc. What we ordered was promptly delivered, well prepared, and delicious. The waiters were very helpful and friendly, despite being extremely busy. If I had only one place to eat in Ishigaki,... More

Recommended by Lonely Planet, I wanted to try. No English menu although waiter did speak some English and just look around at what others are eating. I had standard Ikasumi chahan (squid ink fried rice), goya-champuru (bitter melon, tofu, egg), sashimi Moriawase (sashimi assortment), sashimi salad, and fried noodles. All were great dishes and very fresh. I would consider Paikaji... More
