The wait was horrendous, the wait was around 2-4 hours, and the food was way too overpriced for the same meal you could get somewhere else. The food tasted unique but that was about it.

You can miss every restaurant but you don't muss this restaurant. You have to use time to wait 1-2 hours, by only one people to book qouta and the other can go shopping.

We enjoyed the yummy eel (not fat but very tasty) to the full although it was only a set dinner. We later found out how to use up the bottle of clear soup that came with the set. We were very happy and satisfied with our choice.

It's the best Eel i ate in my life .I tried both grilled eel liver and HITSUMABUSHI . The hitsumabushi was eaten in different ways and I like it best with finely sliced chives, shredded seaweed and wasabi.it was excellent.I will definitely eat it again when i am in Nagoya.

I am always a bit suspicious about a place that is so popular. Sometimes the reputation can get ahead of the experience. The unagi is good - no question. But so is the unagi I had last month in a nondescript restaurant under the railway line in Osaka. The service is good, but not what I would call friendly. Unagi... More

This was our first visit in Nagoya, we visited the restaurant at 1:30pm and was surprised many people still queuing for the meal. It did not take much longer time to move the queue. We ordered the unagi donburi and we loved it. It was fantastic meal. Waitress were not friendly(no smile at all) but when you signal to refill... More

My wife and I went there after reading the posts and photos. The food was worth the trip to Nagoya alone! Heavenly cooked eel fish w/ yummy rice. Expensive price in Nagoya standard but again every penny is worth it. My only complain is the service which appears to be a Nagoya thing.

The quality of food and service is excellent! I used to eat Ill Grill with rice before but it's totally different from here. I order 3,600 yen Hitsumabushi set, it is the most expensive one i had. The price is high but you pay what you get.
