This place is one of my favorite when I craved for Indonesian cuisine. One of my favorite dish is ayam bakakak. It's a whole chicken with Indonesian spices. Best served on the restaurant because when it gets cold, the taste won't be the same. They also have many variety of Indonesian desserts.

I am not sure why people visit this restaurant. The food was cold, service was slow and it became a nightmare - I came down with diarrhoea the next morning! There was really, in my view, very little option for people who cannot take spicy food (including my youngest child) plus only one service staff spoke English. I'd say to... More

I wasn't intending to visit this restaurant as one of my local friends had told me that no local (living in Bandung) would opt to eat there. But I was passing by their Rumah Mode outlet, saw that they offered two dishes I was specifically seeking out (Ikan Pesmol and Bakakak Hayam), so I gave them a go. I'm glad... More

The staff doesn't speak english but they made lots of effort to show us how it works. Despite it looks like a buffet, you cant serve yourself. Just go to the food shelves and tell the girl what you wanna eat, she'll keep all and note the bill. The food is served hot some minutes later with hot tea. You... More

From the non air conditioned dining areas to the slightly disorganized staff and the fresh food with a wide variety of vegetarian dishes, Bumbu Desa delivered a truly authentic Sundanese dining experience in the central Bandung. I especially enjoyed the varieties of Indonesian Iced drinks the restaurant has to offer. Just come prepared to sweat as you enjoy the various... More

Serving basically Sundanese cuisine. One of the well-known restaurant in the city. Staffs were very friendly and you can feels the culture. Sambal Terasi with the raw veggie, tempe and tofu is the signature dish. And the best of all got dangau to ourselves to enjoy the lunch.

It was interesting to go to a restaurant where the food is on display in large bowls, unrefrigerated, and uncovered. I liked the selection of sambal, but was disappointed at the lack of heat, i guess they need to add a bowl of chilli's to the range available. several visits and each time the place had only a few customers...... Food is okay. Many traditional sundanese cuisine is available, including brown rice. Cooking process is also still using traditional kitchen tools, makes the taste more genuine. The only downside is cleanliness, they should take care of it more.
