We mainly used it as a bar as a local clampdown on licenced premises has made getting beer a bit difficult. Because of this it's full of locals mainly drinking but not drunks. The food was average but fresh sea food is available. Part of...More

We were staying at a place in Fort Kochi that doesn’t serve beer so we went here after dinner for a cold one. Came back next night and had best butter chicken I’ve ever had. Place is lively and on the water.

Very good seafood platters and fish plates. Please try the grilled squid and the tiger prawns very very good. The crew is aware when they see westerners and usually the food is not that spicy so this is another advantage. Beer collection is fairly descent...More

Went here 3 times on recent trip to Fort Cochin, food is good but it's one of the few places in the area that serves beer and wine. That makes it busy and a decent atmosphere. Could not fault any on my food too much...More

Doesn't look great but good, honest fresh food (especially the fish) and cold Kingfisher Lager. Views out over the water with huge container ships and water hyacinths. Been twice in 2 days. Worth a look!!

Food was irresistible, reasonable food in town. The best place for a dinner party, by the seaside. Foreign tourists are also attracted. Located very near to Cochin Biennale venues. Don't miss a chance to experience.

As you sit by the shore, listening to the sound of little waves, watching the quiet reflections on the water on a moonlit night, sipping your favorite drink, you will never think of leaving this place. Seagull is not just a building, which provides you food and drink, but this is a place which gives you a complete dining experience. The hotel stands is a gracious landmark of the city, showcasing contemporary Indian influences along with the country's colonial past. The Hotel Seagull, which we see today, was the brain child of sri V S Krishnan, who was a musician cum businessman. This Hotel was once a residence-cum-furniture maintenance workshop of a French-rosewood exporter named C J Revel, whose business, house and factories were based at Thalaserry. The main structure of this Hotel was a simple residence and the adjacent extensions were remodeling and repairing workshops. Later, krishnan modified this simple residence cum workshop into a magnificient property named "The Hotel Seagull" in 1980. Every corridor and modification of this hotel has a history to say and a story to tell. Travelers with a yen for history and heritage will find Seagull and Fort Kochi engrossing. Over the years, the building stood as a silent witness to the passage of time and the creation of history. The Portuguese, the Dutch, French and the British came and went. The country freed itself and embraced democracy and the ownership of this grand edifice changed hands. Today, it has become a favorite haunt of foreigners. We have taken every care to present you the rich traditions of a bye gone era along with the taste of local flavors.
