The place has good ambience and food quality. However it is a bit remote and costly. The menu has good options.

My son discovered this place and we had our best lunch there in Manali with great memories. Chef and owner of this place Mr Abhinav is very warm and helpful and met his mother ( another charming punjabi lady with full of life) and father. We had the best fish finger in the world . All dishes including indian, deserts... More

When in Manali, spend a leisurely afternoon in the beautifully maintained, sun-kissed lawns of Fat Plate. Let Chef Anubhav pamper you with his signature dishes as you chat away with Rati aunty. In my opinion, Fat Plate serves the best quality food in all of Manali. Totally worth the time and money spent here. I would recommend their cold coffee,... More

uncooperative staff, was charged for everything extra... Food is good, but had a bad time due to the attitude of one of the waiters... the worst thing about an excellent trip...

This was our second trip to Manali and we had heard about Fat Plate. The reviews suggested that visiting Flat Plate would be one of the best experiences of our stay in Manali for the second time. Also the occasion was special one, so we were pretty happy on reaching the cafe. The café is located in a quiet location... More

Lovely ambience and yummy food. The chocolate mousse was out of the world. We spent a good 3-4 hours here and it felt great. The staff members are all very friendly and courteous. They even have a cute dog named Laddu and a cute little kitten in a basket which they opened and let us have a look and even... More

Great food. The service can be erratic in the high season with the crowds. Be sure to order all at once else there can be confusion. Go when it is less crowded and this charming restaurant in a cottage will be a really enjoyable experience.

Fat Plate Cafe is a family-run eatery located on the left bank of the River Beas. The cafe is a brick & wood building constructed over a 3 bigha plot of land, surrounded by lush green lawns and its very own herb and vegetable gardens. The cafe seats 80 covers, the seating is divided between the indoor lounge, the veranda and the two level of lawns. The cafe was born in 2012, promoted by the gurung family who share a deep passion for food. Anubhav Gurung, the son, is the chef and in-charge of the kitchen. The food is the soul of the cafe; the menu is based around European and north Indian specialities. The chef believes in following the traditional cooking techniques and giving them his own flavour. The menu is based on the seasonality of ingredients and the chef works closely with his butcher and his gardener to finally decide what’s going to be on the menu.Rarrah meat, Roast leg of lamb, Bacon wrapped chicken with plum sauce and the Mustard chilli trout are some of the top selling items. The cafe bakes its own breads and most of the herbs and the salads are grown on the premises. Most of the ingredients are sourced locally and are bought from the farmers directly.
