I had breakfast here and found it was average cafe food- nothing special. Potatoes were bulk frozen, bread was supermarket, ran through a grease machine and choice of two same as everywhere jelly choices. I would not return due to poor service. Getting a second cup of coffee was a chore. Prices were not cheap. After waiting more than ten... More

Eaten here twice for breakfast, good enough breakfast food, Chorizo and eggs one day, corned beef hash and eggs the next. Really rates as on the under edge of average. Quick service, coffee good and refilled often, waitresses hustled. They don't have time to chit-chat, so this may account for some customer dissatisfaction. No counter to sit at, all table... More

Good breakfast and quick service. But locals seem to be tended to first. Tables and booths not the cleanest, perhaps due to the volume of business they do?

We have gone there now two times for Sunday breakfast, and have had great service, and decent food. We saw lots of big bowls of menudo or pisole being served. They do not mind if you want to add something to your order.

A Mexican food/steakhouse/pancake palace??? - gee ... Haven't run across many such restaurants before. So, in-step w/many Hutch-N-Post BBQ reviewers, the Alamo Grill is the best combo "Mexican-food/Steakhouse/Pancake Palace" in Alamogordo ... Make that N.M ... Make that the entire USA, as they're probably the only such restaurant of this type anywhere, anytime. Given that, skip the steak & Mex... More

We came for breakfast because we saw the lot was full and the crowd seemed lively. The food was great! We got scrambled eggs with chorizo and steak, with jalapeños tomatoes and onions. The meals came with rice and beans and tortillas. The coffee wasn't up to my snobby standards but I'd definitely come back. Staff was very friendly. The... More

We wanted to stop as the reviews were pretty OK. My husband got the onion rings and they were very greasy even though they were homemade. I got the chimichanga beef, and it was very salty. I guess they don't do regular salsa here as when I asked they just brought me out some spicy ketchup tomato sauce in a... More

We had Sunday lunch and the restaurant was very crowded. Patrons appeared to be mostly locals. The servers were doing the best they could but there was still a significant wait. Can't fault the servers; they were just overwhelmed. We had standard New Mexico lunch fare. It was nothing special, but perfectly satisfactory. Prices were fair and serving size generous.
