The multi-storey shopping mall is abandoned, not closed, just the cinema is open. BUT Din Tai Fung is OPEN as of March 14, 2019. The entrance is located NOT in the main mall, but in the pedestrian area close to the water/pier, ground floor. NO...waiting at 1 PM, many tables available. Great food (same as in other DTF branches). Nice walking area outside!More

They do keep the standard as Taiwan, best xiao long bao! Always love their fried rice, it’s dried enough and chewy! Don’t forget to try the century eggs as appetizer too! You will definitely fall in love with it!

If you like to taste a great variety of dumplings with Chinese Food, too, you are in the right place!I suggest crab and Shrimps dumplings,if you like fish, but you can choose among a long list on the English menu, which is also illustrated with pictures.Service is very attentive...and fast, even when crowded, price is a little too much expensive to be in China.Recommended also the sweet dumplings with chocholate or semame and red bean paste.More

Hi, we live in Qingdao but are from California. This place is a quiet relaxing meal spot for our family from the busy and sometimes frustrating work of going out to eat in China as a foreigner. It is in a great walking and shopping...area which you can roll into your trip here. If you have limited Chinese language skills there are pictures in the menus and even instructions on how to eat soup dumplings which you will have to try. The restaurant is very clean and has a very nice atmosphere for eating and talking quietly. High ceilings and wood, coupled with the seaside, almost can make you feel like you are in San Francisco. Service is very good and the food is delicious. Din Tai Fung is not cheap, like you will find all over Qingdao in street food venues, however it is worth the price if you want to relax and have a nice meal with your family or friends. This is a go-to for our family and our teenagers love it.More

The food here is nice! Reccomend the chicken soup buns and the small pork buns as well as the cold chilli chicken dish. Really yummy! The food is pretty good and consistent but it is quite expensive in comparison to other places, then again I...would still come back here!More

Let's get this out of the way it is overpriced and while for the for Baozi and the Jaozi you can justify it as in Northern China, these two things can be quite often over done leaving them dry and lacking juice. The veggies however...are so overpriced only business people trying to keep face are really ordering them. Secondly if you have ever been to Guangzhou or Shenzhen and gone to eat at a proper dimsum restaurant (the kind that opens at 9 am and closes after lunch) then Din Tai Fung just feels like a place to do business and the atmosphere screams that as well as it falls somewhere between business dinner and fast food restaurant. Also many commend the chocolate dumplings, but the chocolate inside does melt in your mouth, the jiaozi itself lingers on and its presence hampers this dish as nothing more than novel. Lastly it is often said this is the best restaurant in Qingdao, but sadly that says more about the state of restaurants in Qingdao than it does Din Tai Fung itself.More

Din Tai Fung is a chain of Taiwanese dumpling restaurants. I've eaten in a couple of them, they are always good. This location is right near the waterfront, very nice atmosphere. You don't have to feel like you're experimenting here, and you know what you're...eating. I especially recommend the Hot & Sour soup, it's so thick you can almost stand your spoon up in it.More

Best restaurant in QD hands down! Dumplings are amazing, a little more on the expensive side perhaps for Chinese prices, but well worth it. Must try choc dumplings for desert! Unbelievable!

My family love Chinese food although we are not Chinese :) Din Tai Fung serves the best Xiao long Bao that we ever tasted ! Although their prices are higher than other chinese restaurants but we don't mind, because we are satisfied with the food...& services of the restaurant. We ordered 1 serving for each one of us ( we are 5 in the family ) just for Xiao long Bao alone :) Just remembering it now, makes me hungry and wanting for their Xiao long Bao . The best !More
