The restaurant prides itself on its British menu items, but the ones sampled were substandard at best. I know British food isn't considered the best, but this place doesn't do it any favours. The bathroom facilities were pretty bad & don't bode well for the kitchen if that's the hygiene they show the public.

Went with ~7 people. Place was ~15% full that night. Two of the orders took close to 90 minutes to be brought out, mine being the last one. A bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. Waitress acknowledged the delay and said I took too long to order. I certainly didn't order 45 minutes after the others. I will seek better prices... More

A good steak is hard to find in China. The drunken chef isn't going to beat you top of the line Chicago place, but it was very good. The interior decorating hasn't changed in over 10 years and the menus have pages with the year 2009 printed on them. It is unique - I will give it that.

Spent much of the US Thanksgiving Day 2014 here. It was perfect. Great atmosphere, wonderful good featuring a roasted turkey, friendly people who made me feel at home. Highly recommended.

I used to live next door to this place, it's pretty bad. The first time was just for beers, a few old guys at the bar told me how good the food was, so even though it seemed grimy just having beers there, I went back again. The food was so mediocre for the price that I likely wouldn't have... More

It is always a pleasure to go back to the Drunken Chef for a home cooked meal and some good music when in Suzhou. Recently I visited on a Monday night and enjoyed the Pork Roast meal. It was fabulous. The atmosphere is great with flags from all over the world hanging in the pub. The owner Clive is very... More

We came here for lunch during the week. The food was ok, but very expensive. 150RMB for the small Fish and Chips? Not worth the high prices.

China is no longer a cheap place to eat out, especially when its imported food, but burger king is just up the road. More

The Drunken Chef is run by a British Expat and he caters to the Expat community. As a result he as a little bit of everything on the menu which is quite extensive. This tends to put me off though as no restaurant can do such a large menu well. The food we had was fine - better than most... More

Literally found bugs in my food. If that isn't bad enough, the owner (we found out he was the owner later) told us that we needed to pay for our bill before we left....Obviously we refused and didn't eat bug food. Please don't go here.
