Popped into the Shackleton bar for a beer and a bite and was very impressed. With the wood panelling and the illustrations of Shackleton's exploits it had the atmosphere of a Victorian gentlemen' s club. The beer choice was excellent with bottles from local microbreweries. I tried an Imperial Stout which at 7% demanded respect. The mixed plate was super,... More

This is the perfect launching (or departure point) for a trip to Punta Arenas/Patagonia! The hotel and staff were helpful and kind. Breakfast was included in the rate, as well as free parking and internet. Breakfast is served in a bright and cheery 'morning room'. It's easy to imagine the hotel in its 'hey day'. The architecture of the building... More

We stayed here just one night, and would have liked to have stayed longer. It is a veritable museum with a "special " bar. The only drawbacks are that there is street noise at night (although not that bad) and there is no a/c. I would definitely stay here again.

Enjoyed a drink in the Shackleton bar and very nice dinner in the beautiful old conservatory. The food was good and served hot although the group I was was with was quite large (67). At least take a walk through the building.

Centrally located just steps away from the main plaza, shops and a supermarket. The Nice restaurant in a sunroom with a breakfast buffet and eggs made to order. Has a bar on premises.

Although the hotel rooms are small and dated, the various function rooms on the first floor are very ornate with lavish antique furniture. It has the feel of a palace. The dining room has glass walls and ceiling. Once upon a time it might have been a greenhouse.

Great hotel, centrally located with a fantastic breakfast. The rooms are good but get a bit hot at night. The street can get very loud

The hotel is located right in the heart of the city. There is free parking at the rear and it is easy to reach everywhere by foot. The room was small but comfortable. The bathroom was also small, however it was nicely equipped. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast that was included. The staff were not particularly welcoming and it took... More

Lovely wallpaper and photos inside. Well worth a drink at the bar. Actually the drink is pretty ordinary but the decor is nice
