The dishes were very authentic and staff very attentive. They do serve mainly sashimi (raw fish) so if thats not your thing, there isn't much else to choose from.

We stayed at the Sokha hotel where this restaurant is situated. The bento box special we had was amazing. Came with sake or soju for US$18. Yes, expensive for Siem Reap, but not really when you're a tourist, as you'd be lucky to get a couple of sushi rolls and a soft drink at home in Sydney for that! Also,... More

We love Japanese food and have travelled through Japan and I'm happy to say with all honesty that the food at Takezono was excellent. Even better was the service. Highly recommend Takezono especially if you're staying at Angkor Sokha Resort. I'd expect a large hotel like this to have overpriced restaurants but that's not the case here. It was so... More

I usually avoid sushi restaurants on Sundays as it is an off day for the fish (fresh supplies usually come in on Monday or Tuesday depending on the country). At Takezono Sundays are also an off day for the Japanese chefs. So I was left in the hands of a Cambodian chef. That is not necessarily a problem if the... More

We visited this restaurant while staying at the Sokha hotel over New Years. We were really surprised that when we arrived there was only one other table occupied and no one else came in to the restaurant for the whole time we were in there. We ordered a set menu each and then one additional sashimi dish each. The food... More

As big fans (more like obsessed, really) of Japanese Cuisine, we have tried ALL the Japanese restaurants in town, from the Hashi, Kobe, Wagakoro to even smaller haunts and food carts but so far, Takezono takes the cake as the most consistently great Japanese food there is available in Siem Reap. Both for the quality and the price, they are... More

The setting is nice and the service is very good. Delicious dishes but the coffee was extremely ordinary.

Takezono is one of about 3 or 4 restaurants at Sokha Angkor Resort. We dined here one time, and the food was good, but nothing to rush out to get. If a guest at the hotel and looking for something convenient, this is a good option.

Found the restaurant to be clean, and the staff adequately attentive. The tenderloin was tough as shoe leather. The vegetables, salmon, sushi, and salads were good. The ginger sauce is great. I'd only recommend eating here if you're staying at the Ankor Sokha and don't wish to leave the resort on a particular evening.

Booked a Teppanyaki to celebrate one of our Daughters Birthday. Location is extremely nice, and very warn welcome. The restaurant was almost empty, and we were in a separate Teppanyaki room. Was very excited to see the usual show where the cook is playing with knives and juggling with food... Well the show never came. The come plainly and basically... More
