Impromptu stop at Di Mattia's Tuesday night. (We had not been there in more than 10 years) So glad we went back! Food was spectacular. Mussels Fra Diablo & roasted long hot peppers for apps. Phenomenal NY Strip perfectly rare topped with Gorgonzola & shrimp, as well as penne with broccoli rabe, roasted sausage and peppers. Nick is a warm... More
Being Italian, I know good Italian cooking and DiMattia's doesn't disappoint!!! Yes service may be slow BUT it's because all dishes are made fresh. The inside is not fancy but very comfortable. We have never had a bad meal. Nick, the owner and cook prepares all the main courses himself to perfection! When the place closes for the night you... More
While the restaurant is a little dated....the most important thing, the food was excellent. We were out of towners and they knew it but treated us as if we grew up there. After reading other reviews that said the service was slow we were prepared to sit, we had nothing to do and they fixed the drinks like we were... More
Friday nights, after a hard working week, nothing like going to DiMattias for a delicious dinner. Caution - sometimes the wait is long but worth the while - the food is delicious! So, relax and enjoy a Friday night feast -or any night!
The main resturant isn't much for atmosphere. But it's good food, prepared well at reasonible prices. A comfortable bar area for a comfortable meal.
I've been going to DiMattia's for over 25 years and Chef Nick prepares the best food anywhere and made fresh to order. Famous for their steaks, veal, chicken dishes, and the best tomato pies in NJ! Prices are reasonable and fast service.
I am writing in response to a review on this site dated March 18 entitled "a disappointment." Whoever wrote that either has no taste at all or he is a competitor looking to trash the best food around. My wife and I have been dining weekly at Nick's for 30 years. Growing up in Chambersburg, I have eaten in all... More
This place has been around forever, and has not aged well. The pizza is average, and if you come in for dinner you will wait forever for it to come out. When it does, you'll realize that too was average. Interior is old and worn, outside deck laden with trash and cigarette butts. It's about time for this place to... More
