Our group of 20 friends met here last night for dinner, we made reservations ahead of time. Many of us had never eaten here before. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the service was friendly and attentive for the most part. For the not so good: it had been requested ahead of time that we all be seated at one large... More

The waiter did an excellent job of putting us at ease. Explained and helped with the wine selection as well. Then since we did not want a large meal, he was more than willing to split a main dish for us. Overall the experience was very positive. This was my first time but I will definitely plan to visit again.

I have been here twice not once we were a party of at least 15 and were seated up on the roof top. Wonderful experience and the food was fabulous. Second time we were just a party of 4 and ate downstairs. Again it was a wonderful experience. The service was a little slow both times but the place was... More

We always assumed based on the name that this was some type of Paleo diet place with meat and veggies. On the contrary, Palio is full on Italian with pizza, pasta, etc. They have a nice build your own pasta option and plentiful choices of seafood, chicken, and more. The food was excellent with generous portions. We loved the ambiance.... More

Apart from the slightly crowded atmosphere, the quality of the service and food had me fooled into thinking this might be especially pricey Italian food. I chose one of the more expensive meals, still priced at a little less than $20. They must have let the pasta sit in the sauce for some minutes before serving, as it seemed like... More

Been to Palios multiple times and you really have two options when it's warm out. Eat on the roof and have a smaller menu that's not as good or go downstairs and have an amazing meal. Either way it's a win, because the atmosphere on the roof is so cool. Also they have amazing sangria

One of Paul's favorite places in Ann Arbor Michigan is Palio. We unfortunately and fortunately came on game night. Fun atmosphere, especially after a win for University of Michigan, but when 112,000 people exit the stadium with a hunger to celebrate at the wonderful eateries along main street, it's a kind madness of hustling and bustling to get in and... While it is difficult to find parking in downtown Ann Arbor during university move in week, we persevered based on a recommendation to try this restaurant. The atmosphere was delightful and the wait staff were very attentive. The feel of Italy was very present. Our waiter helped us to understand how to manage the menu (they use iPads) and soon... More

We had a reservation for 7 and were late because of the football game, but they seated us right away when we arrived (partly because I was on crutches). Dinners were great -- I had the Tortelacci alla Palio which was awesome. Our server was very good, but the service was a little slow (it was a game day and... More

Love the atmosphere, good noise, and most importantly, the food. Well-prepared Italian favorites, great bread, extensive wine list and moderate prices make this my go-to place for iItalian. Don't miss the tiramisu! Great for celebrations.

Previous Next Authentic Tuscan Dishes Born in September of 1991, Palio is a country-style, Italian restaurant featuring authentic Tuscan dishes. Named for the famous horse race that runs yearly through Siena, Italy, a record is even kept of the race's winners on a mural along the back dining room wall. During summer, Palio boasts Ann Arbor's largest and most popular outdoor gathering spot on its rooftop patio - Palio Del Sole. Offering the best view of Ann Arbor's energetic downtown nightlife, Palio Del Sole is fully equipped with its own cucina and offers a unique menu that is completely different from Palio downstairs. There simply is no better Al Fresco dining experience on a warm summer evening in Ann Arbor.
