Just had an amazing experience of Friday brunch in Thiptara. Needless to say the view and proximity of the fountains is a nice bonus but the food and service itself is worth a visit.
Unlike most places, brunch is served a la carte with sharing platers of some traditional and fusion Thai dishes. Manager Allan is incredible, very pleasant and attentive and entire team is very welcoming.
Thank you again to Allan and the team for making our day!

We had read so many great reviews of Thiptara so opted to eat here mainly for the views of the fountains.
We were seated on the outdoor terrace and were very fortunate considering we hadn't booked.
One tip... Don't make the same mistake we did of asking for sparkling water, we paid £8.50 for the pleasure!
We ordered a prawn dimsum starter which was very nice and for mains my husband had chicken and cashew nuts and I opted for the sea bass Thai red curry. We each ordered a steamed rice but one would be more than enough to share. We had a couple of beers each too. The seabass curry didn't have a lot of spice but this may be because I said not 'Thai spicy' when ordering, it's just preference but I prefer more of a kick. Other than that the food was lovely and the view of the fountains did not disappoint. It was an expensive meal but we had the Entertainer app which softened the blow. I'd return mainly for the views and the service.

We had an outside table with a great view of the fountains. There were not many vegetarian choices on the main menu, but on request we were given the vegetarian menu with several more options. Service and food quality were both excellent. The restaurant is quite expensive but worth it for the overall experience.

My partner and I have come to Dubai, to celebrate our 6 year anniversary. Thiptara was the first stop, voted the most romantic restaurant in 2019 and having heard so much about how infamously good the standard of service is in Dubai, my hopes were high.
We arrived at the hotel the Palace Downtown(beautiful). The first thing I will say is that as we looked lost no one offered direction. We stumbled into the reception area where I was searching for some signage(there was non) and even though they saw us stumbling from A to B, no one wanted to offer a kind hello and see what it is we were looking for. Eventually we just asked and we received some very vague directions. That semi lead us to the restaurant. (Its about a 4min walk from the driveway to the restaurant)
When we got there the manager ushered us to a bar(I assumed our table wasn't ready) and when we got to the main reception, we were told to sit down, then 2 seconds later stand up and follow the hostess back to the table outside. We sat down and it began, the beautiful water display on the fountains. Not the service, not for a while. Eventually we pulled over the waiter to ordered drinks. 24min minutes for a pint and a bellini... Then we had to pin him down to take our order, he wasn't sure about the ingredients in the dim sum, and had to go ask the chef. As we had been sitting for 40 minutes already it was nerve wrecking to see him walk away from the table. Eventually we ordered, and the food was very good! But to obtain to service was, like sticking your hand in a blender whilst trying to catch a blade, impossible. Chop sticks, chilly oil, chilly sauce, soya sauce and more drinks(which again took 20min to make). I have no words about how hard it was to get these things.
Oh and the damn receptionist kept taking our menu QR code to pass to another table that she would seat then we would find ourselves chasing down a waiter to pass us a new QR code. Please, please just print two more.
Overall the evening was saved by the Fountain, but everything els went a miss.

Let’s get over the fact that it is in a great location, near to the Burj Khakifa. The restaurant is there to serve quality food to customers, and during our stay, we found many places were amazing. The food here was not of good quality. Some dishes were too sweet and others were too cold. £8 GBP for a bottle of local water and £20 GBP for a portion of rice was a rip off. The staff were also unable to rectify any of our concerns. Not what you would expect from a $$$$ establishment.

This restaurant are gone really bad now. The staff have no idea how to service their customer, often serve the drinks to the wrong person, and when you request for your order they just not accepted, very poor services and unprofessional. also, their pricing are overly charged for each of their small portion of their dishes, really not worth it. Besides, they even add on 10% of their services charges on the total of your spent, what a sly way of taken money from the customer. Not a pleasant place to have a friends over there, you gonna disappointed.

I have always been a fan of this place and have been visiting as couple and a group of friends and family at least 4 times in past 2 years, my last visit to the place in January has been AWFUL. The food quality has gone down quite a bit. It no more seems to be of fine dinning level. For a terrace sitting they charge AED 350 per head which is expensive for this kind of food. I don’t expect to go to this place till there has been a significant improvement in food quality. The Pad Thai we ordered was so bad that we have to leave half the portion. If you plan to go to get a view of fountain; it’s good but food is below average. There are better places to have both or just the fountain view.

Location location location!!! Full marks for the views and location close to dubai mall. Hard to find but well worth the visit. Slightly on the pricey side for the food you getting but well worth it for the views and that romantic date night while in dubai. Ordered a thai green curry with jasmine rice which was a good sized portion and the hubby ordered noodles with chicken which was okay but standard. Nothing special but as mentioned you're paying for the views and the service.

Absolutely wonderful evening spent at Thiptara celebrating my partners birthday. We had the best table outside with a breathtaking view of the fountain. Wow, what an incredible setting!
We ordered dim sum, chicken satay and papaya salad to start (which was nice and hot), followed by the chefs lobster and the massaman with sticky rice. Portions were huge, food was absolutely delicious and the pace of the meal was excellent.
To top it all of, the brought out a little cake with a candle for my partners birthday. A very special evening for us that won’t be forgotten. If you’re in Dubai and you’re want tasty food, good service and a magical setting, look no place else ! After all, it really was magic at the water

Dined at this restaurant twice between late-January and early-February whilst staying at the Palace Downtown hotel. Professional, courteous and considerate service throughout both experiences and the restaurant were able to accommodate my request to be seated at the outdoor terrace, despite the short notice provided. Food menu is extensive, flavoursome, authentic and only the highest quality ingredients are used at this establishment. Food is served promptly, discretely and without the diner feeling either rushed or left waiting for their next course. Views of the dancing fountains and the Burj Khalifa are awesome and the terrace offers a prime viewing location, although I would recommend advance booking. Hope to return here when I’m next in Dubai and thanks again to the team at Thiptara.

Loved my experience at Thiptara, we ordered Thai green curry with Jasmine rice, stir-fried bok choy and dim sums. All amazing, very authentic and generously served. The manager spent a lot of time with us and made us feel super special, and our waitress Ha Thi was very kind during our dinner, always smiling! Will definitely return and bring family and friends!

We went here on a recommendation for my wife’s 50th birthday. We booked it directly with the hotel who asked if we were celebrating any special occasion. On arrival several members of staff passed us waiting and ignored us. Very poor at a 5 star hotel. There was no mention of the birthday celebration throughout despite it being on our booking. We were then taken through to the outside seating which has fantastic views of the Burj Khalifa and fountains. Food was ok but nothing special. It is expensive but the £20 bowl of rice isn’t what you’re paying for - it’s the view that costs the money. Staff were ok but they take customers for granted as they know their location will keep people attending. Saying this there are numerous other restaurants that have the same view so try these and hopefully Thiptara will then up their game. It won Best Thai in Dubai for 2020 - best location maybe but not best food!

Great food and views. Great service by Hari! For our anniversary, they served food desserts. When my wife said it’s too hot, a new bowl of soup and ice cream was given to her free of charge to cool her down.

Thiptara is an overwhelming unique experience that everyone must definitely experience.
I surprised my wife here with our 3 years wedding anniversary celebrations and Cynthia managed to make it a memorable experience.
Anil the manager along with the rest of the crew Jafar and Dilli and everyone who served us were perfect, professional and extremely proactive.
Constantly on their toes, the head chef, chef keeta greeted us in the most heart warming welcome we've received so far.
An absolute beyond perfect date that was thanks to the team.
The bouquet, rose petals, cake, service, views. Everything was perfect.
Staff are knowledgeable.
I'm surprised we didn't visit here before today.
But definitely gonna visit again.
I'd recommend everyone to try it.
Keep up the great work guys.
Loved it.

Whoever gave this resturant a good review has never been to Thailand
I am not even convinced the chef has.The somtam as tasteless as was the asparagus. The beef in oyster sauce was gooey and inedible. The phad thai was average. Theonly good part of the meal was the wine which came from Argentina! Nice view of the fountain and authntic decoratin. Sadly average but extremly expensive food.

Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.
