Went looking for another BBQ place and ended up here. Glad I did! You place the BBQ portions you pick in a little basket and it's cooked for you and delivered to the table. All were very tasty but some of the veggie ones along with the spiced mutton and stuffed pork stand out. Very popular with the locals which... More

Literally this place was one of the best meals I've ever had in Southeast Asia, certainly while in Myanmar. It has a very relaxed 'chilled out' atmosphere. Mostly locales were eating there, and it was pretty busy (which is how you know it's good). You select what you would like to have bbq and they bring it out to your... More

Hot, dusty, wonderfully local and not to be missed. The food is siimple, yet superbly seasoned and cooked outside over a charcoal fire. Inside and outside tables: I always eat outside. A bit of advise when choosing an outside table ... Chose one totally beneath the plastic net, as there are birds the trees above. You choose uncooked meat, vegetables,... More

Atmosphere is ok, food as well (Super81 is way better though) but nothing but miscommunication due to non-English speaking staff. And then the bill.....highest we had in a month in Myanmar. 1500 kyats per super tiny meat stick....come on....

Stayed at The Home Hotel and couldn't help but notice on my return the hotel nights one and two, the massive popularity of a restaurant just a few hundred metres from the hotel. After a big day of doing the touristy things, i thought a simple meal close by would be perfect. Must say it was plain but exceptional. A... More

We stayed at the Home Hotel (rated #01 on Trip Advisor) and if you turn right coming out of the hotel and walk a few hundred meters then you would come to the current #01 restaurant in Mandalay. But if you instead turned left and walked to the next crossroad you would see diagonally opposite the Shwe Khaing Barbeque. Now... More

Was there around quarter past eight and most of the bbq are out as the restaurant tend to close at nine. Limited choice but enjoyable and the draught beer is also quite good too. Should go there earlier.

Just down the street from the Home Hotel. Good selection of meats ready for grilling. Try the pork spare ribs, not available everyday. Pork and Chicken on skewers are good. Even the vegetable called Morning Glory is grilled. Seafood is also grilled. My friend and I had a nice meals with 4 beers for about $10.00 USD.

Yes.. Food is not the main thing i want to say. What i'd seen in Mandalay is; Chinese Invasion without a single-shot of Gunfire. Yes, neo-colonialism is done mostly by two things (1)influx of black money(in other word, moneylaundering) (2)fake citizenship. Yes...to cheap to make Mandalay as a hub of Trade for Yunnan Province.
