probably overshadowed by another restaurant we visited. We found this rather large and impersnal with a lot of big groups. The food was good value for money, just not exceptional

the food is okay, overpriced as a result and the recipient of too many bus tours. The sign of a decent Burmese restaurant is there is a mixture of locals and foreigners. it's not bad but it just average.

Our guide had made us a reservation here, which was just as well as it was full and they had to set an extra table for us. This place is clearly used by tour groups as there were some big groups eating but they managed to be attentive to just two of us and produced an excellent meal. The portions... More

We went here because it was close to our hotel. Service was good and prompt notwithstanding the recently arrived bus load. We sensibly ordered popular dishes (green chicken curry, pineapple curry) rather than anything complicated. Bingo! The food was delicious. They do place a mosquito coil under each table and we did not get bit. It is expensive compared to... More

The restaurant has a lovely well laid out and spacious garden with a range of seating. Its worth it for the setting. The food is mixed and expensive but the green tea leaf salad was the best we had in Myanmar.

If you are on a tour with lots of people who sit down for a buffet, you may have a good experience. If you just drop in as an individual, you'll get overpriced not great food.

Jan 21 After a dusty morning visiting workshops making gold leaf, jade jewelry, and teak carvings, we were hoping for an air-conditioned resto for relief of the humidity and warming temperatures. Green Elephant offered us a long table under a huge canopy. The decor was over-the-top with green elephants. The crispy chips were delicious. I decided to go vegetarian and... More

We had read good things about the Green Elephant and was rather disappointed with the food and service, it was nothing special. Maybe we picked the wrong day/time to visit, would not recommend it there are other better restaurants.

We tried the Green Elephant in Yangon and enjoyed that so decided to try this one too. It was good but expensive. I think they have a set. Must add that their flavouring is more Thai-inclined even if you order the Burmese dishes. And the mosquitoes are very determined there even though their staff work hard to smoke the place... More
