even if it calls itself a Konoba, this is an ordinary restaurant with several dining rooms, serving mainly tourists. we came here for lunch, and there were a lot of people. while we got the menue immediately, it took some time until the waiteress came...to take our order. we ordered a shared first dish (green nudles with seafood) and two dishes for the main corse (Grdobina and Lignje from the grill, with Blitva and Potatoes). it took again quite some time, until the main dishes came, and two minutes later the first dish arrived at the table... the food was ok, but not more then that. and it just got cold on the table, as they brought all together. Eating here was not really an exiting experience, and definitely this is not the place to come back to. once was enough, as there are so many good restaurants in this town.More
this is a very good authentic restaurant with fair prices. we liked paštinada, cevapcici, šopska salad. we ordered a local red wine, they brought a homemade wine and that was delicious, also smelled good. definitely recommend!
The host of the guesthouse where we were staying recommended Konoba Varos for traditional Croatian dishes, and the food was very good. We had the crni rižot (black cuttlefish risotto) and scampi risotto. Generous portions and fair prices. Get here early for dinner or make...a reservation as it's quite full later in the evening.More
Recommended by the staff of the apartment where we where staying we went there the first night in Split, well the problems started at arrival, we approached a waiter and asked to be seated outside he said no place was available and we where send...inside we waited to be seated and the staff acted like basically we where invisible until finally we where told there was a table outside where we could actually seat, it wasn’t booked after all, and we got a table! Food was ok and thats the only reason it gets 3 • after that start, honestly felt kinda like a tourist trap! Go somewhere else plenty of much better options in split!More
Great restaurant with unbelievably delicious local food. Exceptional service with friendly English speaking wait staff. Prices are very reasonable comparing with the quality of food and service. We travelled throughout Croatia for 10 days, stopping on various islands and cities eaten in many good restaurants...but this meal was honestly one of the best!
I was here with my girlfriend. We both had risotto with shrimps and were both disappointed. It tasted like normal rice in a shrimp soup and had nothing to do with a original risotto. But in comparison to other restaurants prices are fair.
